Marvel's New-Gen animated series added Lena Headey and Luke Wilson to its cast. The upcoming animated series is based on a comic book by J.D. Matonti, Chris Matonti, and Julia Coppola of A.P.N.G. Enterprises. The first issue debuted in 2008 and received a boost when issue #6 was distributed at New York Comic-Con. The second volume also premiered at NYCC in 2011.
According to Deadline, Headey and Wilson are the most recent voices added to the cast. Headey will voice Thea, one of the most powerful caretakers in the world of New-Gen with levitation and clairvoyance abilities. Wilson will voice Roboduck, one of the most sentient combat robots in the universe with plasma-based abilities like a plasma cannon and "plasma blast." Headey is best known for playing Cersei in the critically-acclaimed HBO series, Game of Thrones. Wilson has experience in the superhero genre as he played Pat in DC Universe's Stargirl.
Headey and Wilson join real-life brothers Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things) and Nick Wolfhard, who voice the lead characters. Anya Chalotra (The Witcher) is allegedly set to join the cast as well, in a currently unknown role. J.D. Matonti and showrunner Brent Friedman created the animated series. The series is now in production with Bardel Entertainment based on a script co-written by Eugene Son.
New-Gen follows twin brothers and nanotech-enhanced superheroes as they work to save the world of New-Gen from destructive war. The futuristic utopia of scientific and mechanical wonders seeks to balance nature and technology, weaving together an ecologically sustainable paradise.
