Warning! Spoilers for Daredevil #26 below!

Marvel's new Daredevil has only recently become the protector of Hell's Kitchen, but she's already got an incredible challenge awaiting her. Elektra, who's currently in the role of Daredevil after Matt Murdock went to prison for murder, will be greatly challenged in her new heroic role, as she'll come face-to-face will the King in Black's dark army.

In December, Elektra Natchios officially became Daredevil as the original Man Without Fear pled guilty to mistakingly killing a petty criminal. Matt didn't reveal his secret identity to the public but decided his actions deserved serious consequences - in this case, jail time. While in prison, Elektra vowed to Matt to stop killing and ensure that Hell's Kitchen is protected when he's locked up. In a surprise move, Elektra fully adopted the Daredevil persona - and early in her run as the hero, she's facing about as big of a threat as possible.

Marvel Comics released a brand new preview for Daredevil #26 by Chip Zdarsky, Marco Checchetto, Mike Hawthorne, Adriano Di Benedetto, and Marcio Menyz, which ties in directly to the current King in Black event. In the preview pages, Daredevil is seen interrogating a criminal by threatening to kill him - which is just an intimidation tactic since she promised Matt she'd keep her hands clean of killing. While she contemplates Matt's strategy and taking down the Hand, she hears a thunderous scream.

The next page shows one of the King in Black's symbiote dragons wreaking havoc on Hell's Kitchen. Going from petty criminals to a dark army by a symbiote God is quite a different challenge for Elektra. While it's likely she knew defending Hell's Kitchen wouldn't be easy, facing off against the literal God of darkness and his monsters is probably more than she anticipated this early in her turn as Daredevil.

Daredevil King in Black

Elektra doesn't have the superpowers of Star-Lord or Thor, so singlehandedly taking down a symbiote dragon won't be a cakewalk, as she'll have to get creative to defeat the monster. However, it would be foolish to assume Elektra isn't capable of fighting one-on-one with the dragon, as she's seemingly not afraid of anything. Will some of Marvel's street-level heroes assist her in battle? or will Daredevil have to fight the dragon and some infected heroes. What happens if the Hand becomes infected by the King in Black? Symbiote ninjas would be a whole new ball game for Elektra and Daredevil. Readers will find out more when Daredevil #26 comes to comic shops this week.
