Marvel's Netflix Heroes Get Epic Action Figures & Collectibles

Bernthal Ritter Cox Punisher Daredevil Netflix

Netflix is making some pretty big waves in the fan community with their well-received Marvel series. Two seasons of Daredevil and one of Jessica Jones have already hit. Luke Cage, Iron Fist, a Defenders team up, and a third season of Daredevil are confirmed to be on the way. A spinoff starring The Punisher and a second season of Jessica Jones are in development.

Considering how well the shows are doing, it's surprising that they've only had limited representation in the world of collectibles. Predictably, the prolific Funko was first out of the gate with figures of Charlie Cox's (Stardust) Daredevil in multiple variants (plus Wilson Fisk) and Jessica Jones is confirmed to be on the way. But other than that, options for toy fans have been fairly slim. Fortunately, their suffering is close to an end. Already home to a number of MCU movie figures, Hasbro's "Legends" line will soon include Marvel's street-level Netflix heroes.

Spotted at San Diego Comic-Con, io9 has posted images of action figures based off of Jessica Jones and Frank Castle a.k.a. The Punisher. Worth noting, a tag reading "Pending Licensor Approval" marked the figures, so perhaps there are a few legal loopholes for Hasbro to jump through before they make their way onto shelves everywhere. Strangely, a Daredevil Legends figure was nowhere to be seen, but it's a good bet that he's on his way as well.

For those with deeper pockets, Hot Toys looks to have your Daredevil needs covered. Hot Toys is known for their sixth scale figures with an uncanny resemblance to tiny human beings. Like most of their figures, Daredevil will likely retail for around $200-220 USD.

Considering how tough it has been for fans to even get their hands on Black Widow figures, it's great to see Jessica Jones make an appearance. In her messy street clothes, Jessica is as decidedly non-super as superheroes come, but that hasn't kept her from stealing fans' hearts, or from taking her place among the pantheon of the MCU's best.

Hopefully, with these first figures out the door, the floodgates will soon open. If Jessica Jones and Frank Castle sell well enough, fans may be able to expect all the Killgrave, Luke Cage, and Rosario Dawson figures that money can buy.

Daredevil season 1 & 2 and Jessica Jones season 1 are now available on Netflix. Luke Cage season 1 will arrive on September 30th, 2016. The Defenders and Iron Fist arrive in 2017. Release dates for Jessica Jones season 2, The Punisher and Daredevil season 3 have not yet been announced.
