Disney+ is bringing back several Marvel Cinematic Universe actors in their own Marvel TV shows - and here's all of them. When Iron Man launched in 2008, no one could’ve predicted the MCU would grow to span twenty-three films - and counting. Marvel’s reach extended to the small screen as well, with the 2013 arrival of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. More superhero shows would follow, not only on ABC, but on Netflix, Hulu, and Freeform as well. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was the only TV series that truly tied into the larger MCU in any meaningful way, despite the fact that all the shows ostensibly took place in the same universe as the blockbuster films.

Fans frustrated by the lack of connection between their favorite heroes in TV and movies had much to look forward to when Disney+ revealed their upcoming lineup of Marvel shows, several of which center on characters who had already debuted on the big screen. Kevin Feige promised the Disney+ shows would tie into the MCU in unprecedented ways, making both television and films finally feel like one cohesive universe. This should be a far more streamlined process in the wake of Marvel TV being absorbed by Marvel Studios.

Avengers: Endgame wrapped up an epic storyline, but it also paved the way for Marvel to continue expanding its universe for years to come. There are big plans for many of those stories to unfold on the small screen. At this point, there is far more information released about Marvel's first wave of Disney+ shows, which will all focus on familiar characters. Little is known about the second wave of Marvel shows announced, though Mark Ruffalo is in talks for She-Hulk. Thunderbolt Ross (William Hurt) and Betty Ross (Liv Tyler) are also rumored to appear in that series. With so many exciting projects on the way, here is every Marvel movie character who is confirmed to return in the Disney+ shows so far.

Falcon - The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

Falcon Infinity War

Played by Anthony Mackie, Sam Wilson, aka The Falcon, debuted in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Mackie reprised the role in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Ant-Man, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. Cap’s close friend and confidant, Sam's role in the MCU seems poised to become much larger. He followed in the footsteps of his comic counterpart when Steve stepped down from the mantle of Captain America and surrendered the trademark shield to him. Of course, the upcoming Disney+ series is called The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, so it remains unclear if Sam will actually become Captain America any time soon.

Winter Soldier - The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

Sebastian Stan made his big-screen debut as Bucky Barnes in Captain America: The First Avenger, though when he returned for Captain America: The Winter Soldier, it was as a different character entirely. Once Steve’s best friend, Bucky had been brainwashed into becoming his worst enemy. Bucky has gone on quite the hero’s journey since then, with the fight for his soul largely serving as the impetus behind the titular conflict of Captain America: Civil War. He also appeared in Ant-Man, Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame. Many fans believed Bucky would be next to wield Cap’s shield, as he does in the comics, but the MCU seems to have gone in a different direction with the character.

Sharon Carter - The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

Sharon Carter (Emily VanCamp), aka Agent 13, and Steve Rogers have a very complicated relationship in the comics, one the movies have rightfully chosen to simplify. She was seen in both Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War. Fans wondered where the former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent was during the Earth-shattering events of the past two Avengers movies and her appearance in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will likely answer this question.

Helmut Zemo - The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

Zemo in Falcon and Winter Soldier

Played by Daniel Brühl, Helmut Zemo served as the Big Bad in Captain America: Civil War. After largely succeeding in his goal to tear the Avengers apart from the inside out by framing Bucky and revealing his involvement in the death of Tony’s parents, Zemo wound up imprisoned at the Joint Counter Terrorist Center. However, since Brühl is set to reprise the role of Zemo in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, it stands to reason he won’t be staying there.

Scarlet Witch - WandaVision

Scarlet Witch MCU

Elizabeth Olsen first showed up as Wanda Maximoff briefly in the mid-credits scene of Captain America: The Winter Soldier before making her first full appearance in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Similarly to her comic counterpart, she started out as an antagonist before becoming an integral part of the team. The character has since been seen in Captain America: Civil War, as well as Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. She is set to return in WandaVision as half of one of the Avengers’ most iconic couples. When fans last saw Wanda, she was mourning the loss of her beloved Vision, so how they will be reunited remains to be seen.

Vision - WandaVision

Although Paul Bettany had been voicing J.A.R.V.I.S. for quite some time, his proper debut as Vision came in Avengers: Age of Ultron. He returned for Captain America: Civil War, before being killed when Thanos forcibly removed the Mind Stone from his head in Avengers: Infinity War. Due to his demise, the prevailing question among fans has been, how will he return for WandaVision? Much like her comic iteration, Scarlet Witch is incredibly powerful, so perhaps she can use her abilities to resurrect him. There are plenty of other theories as to how Vision can return, ranging from time travel to a repair from Shuri. Some even believe the android will only exist in Wanda’s mind.

Jimmy Woo - WandaVision

Jimmy Woo looks on in Ant-Man and the Wasp

Played by Randall Park, fans will remember Jimmy Woo as the FBI agent from Ant-Man and the Wasp. The former Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. supervised Scott Lang’s house arrest following the hero’s escape from The Raft. He also led the charge in search of Hank Pym and Hope Van Dyne, who were believed to be complicit in Scott’s crimes. Woo is set to return to the MCU in WandaVision, though exactly how he fits into the story has yet to be revealed.

Darcy Lewis - WandaVision

Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis

Darcy Lewis, played by Kat Dennings, acted as Jane Foster’s assistant in Thor, a role she reprised in Thor: The Dark World. Forever known as the person who christened Thor’s hammer Mjolnir as “Mew Mew’, she hasn’t been seen since the Thor sequel, but will be returning in WandaVision. Much like with Jimmy Woo, fans will have to wait and see how Darcy becomes entwined with these characters.

Monica Rambeau - WandaVision

Fans caught a glimpse of Monica Rambeau in Captain Marvel. Portrayed by Akira Akbar in the film, Teyonah Parris will play Monica when she is reintroduced in WandaVision. Rambeau’s bright future in the MCU was teased, despite the fact that she was only a child in Captain Marvel. Carol’s close friend, Rambeau has taken up the mantle of Captain Marvel in the comics, but she is also known to readers as Photon, Pulsar or Spectrum. Considering Captain Marvel took place in 1995 and WandaVision is at least partially set in 2023, Monica will be a young adult by the time she appears on the show, though it’s unclear if she will have superpowers by that point.

Loki - Loki

Loki flips his daggers in battle in Thor

Tom Hiddleston will, of course, be reprising his famed role as the trickster when Loki hits Disney+. A major staple of the MCU, Loki debuted in Thor, before returning as the main villain in The Avengers. He also appeared in Thor: The Dark World, and showed signs of reforming throughout Thor: Ragnarok and Avengers: Infinity War. However, that Loki was killed off by Thanos, so the Loki fans will see on Disney+ is the past version of the character who escaped in Avengers: Endgame. This essentially erases Loki’s redemptive arc from the MCU, with the show following a very different version of the character.

Hawkeye - Hawkeye

Hawkeye strings three arrows into his boy in The Avengers

Jeremey Renner’s Clint Barton, aka Hawkeye, was introduced in Thor. He has since returned in Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Endgame. The only original member of the Avengers without a solo movie, the archer will soon be starring in his own series. Due to the controversy surrounding Renner, there has been speculation he will be recast, but at this point, there is nothing concrete to suggest that. Little is known about Hawkeye, beyond the fact that Clint will be training his comic book protege, Kate Bishop. When fans last saw Hawkeye, he was trying to make peace with Black Widow’s untimely demise.
