Doctor Doom is one of the most unique and interesting super-villains of all time. Doctor Doom, otherwise known as Victor von Doom, is the monarch of Latveria and is the archnemesis of the Fantastic Four. However, despite being one of the most powerful and interesting villains in the Marvel Universe, the character has yet to receive a definitive live-action adaptation.

That being said, after Disney acquired the rights to the Fantastic Four, it is only a matter of time before the character appears in the MCU. There are plenty of facts surrounding the character that would certainly make the on-screen version very interesting to watch.

Diplomatic Immunity

Due to the fact that Doctor Doom is the sole ruler and monarch of Latveria, the character has certain rights that typically come with being a political leader. One of the most obvious of these rights is the notion of diplomatic immunity, which is granted to Doctor Doom.

This is odd to comprehend as the world is well aware that Victor von Doom is a villain, yet they're unable to touch him due to diplomatic immunity.

Could've Been Sorceror Supreme

Famously, Dr. Stephen Strange is the Sorceror Supreme of the Marvel Universe. The character is one of the most powerful magical beings in the Marvel Universe and, fortunately, is also a heroic character. What's odd to consider, then, is that Doctor Doom was raised as a potential replacement as Sorceror Supreme.

For those who're unaware, Doctor Doom is one of the most powerful magical beings in the Marvel Universe, with his magical ability being largely self-taught.

Cheated Luke Cage Out Of $200

As the character of Doctor Doom is one of the oldest in Marvel's history, the character has acted as the foe to many heroes aside from the Fantastic Four. One of the strangest stories comes in an early Luke Cage comic from the 1970s, which follows Cage as he tries to get the money he's owed from Doom.

Doctor Doom hires Luke Cage to hunt down some robots, but then Doom disappears before paying Luke Cage. Not to be cheated out of his money, Cage travels to Latveria (with the help of Mr. Fantastic) in order to get his $200.

Beat The Phoenix Force And Infinity Gauntlet

Doctor Doom

Any casual fan of the Marvel movies would know that the Phoenix Force and Infinity Gauntlet are some of the most powerful forces in the universe. The Phoenix Force has been the subject of several movies, showing how powerful the forces are; while the Infinity Gauntlet was the central plot point of Thanos' arc in the MCU.

However, Doom once channeled the powers of the Beyonders, making Doom have God-like powers. During this time, Doom defeated a Phoenix powered Cyclops and even an Infinity Gauntlet wielding Black Panther.

Parliament Of Doom

For casual fans of Marvel Comics, the multi-verse heavy stories may be slightly difficult to follow. Comic books are already difficult enough to get into due to different continuities and reboots, but adding different versions of characters to one continuity can lead to headaches.

The Parliament of Doom is a collection of all the different Doctor Dooms from across the multi-verse, with the 616 version of Doctor Doom installed as the leader of the group.

Cured The Thing

Is Marvel Teasing the Fantastic Four's Return?

While The Thing is one of the strongest characters in the Marvel Comics Universe, he is also one of the most tortured. It's true that the cosmic accident gave him his powers, but it also disfigured Ben Grimm, turning him into a giant rock creature.

Mr. Fantastic has always despaired at the fact that he has been unable to cure The Thing and restore his humanity, but Doctor Doom was able to do so. However, Doctor Doom then turns Ben Grimm back into The Thing.

Super Willpower

While Doctor Doom is known to possess several incredible powers, one of his more underrated powers is his sheer will and determination that many consider to be the most powerful will in the universe, with Doom resisting the psychic attacks of Emma Frost and Purple Man.

Furthermore, while being tortured in Hell, Doom refused to allow a single sound of pain pass his lips and, after channeling the powers of the Beyonders, Doom was able to create a new planet and hold it together with his will.

Fought Mephisto

Mephisto is, essentially, the Marvel version of the Devil, with the being presiding over a domain he calls Hell and also trapping and torturing souls. One of the more notable souls that Mephisto holds in his domain is Cynthia von Doom, the mother of Victor von Doom.

Doctor Doom is obsessed with saving his mother's soul and, as a consequence, made a deal with Mephisto that he is allowed to summon Mephisto once per year for a fight if Doom wins his mother's soul will be freed. However, each time Doom fails the people of Latveria come to hate Doom more.

Has A Piece Of Christ's Cross

In addition to possessing some of the most powerful abilities in the Marvel Universe, Doom is also one of the cleverest characters in the universe, with Doom teaching himself much of what he knows. Part of this intelligence can be seen in Doom's preparation against potential harm.

One of the strangest examples of this preparation is the fact that Doom holds several pieces of the cross on which Jesus Christ was crucified. The purpose behind this is to ward off vampires.

Doom‘s Day

Doctor Doom Darkhold

Much like any dictator, Doom is fond of the power and ego massaging he can elicit from his subjects. One way in which Doom has his subjects massage his ego is via his national day in Latveria, Doom's Day.

This day is either celebrated on Doom's birthday or whenever Doom declares it. This shows fans the egomaniac side to Doom's character.
