2K Games' upcoming Marvel release, Midnight Suns, will see players become some of the most iconic heroes like Iron Man, Wolverine, and Captain America. But they will be joining forces with magical and supernatural allies including Doctor Strange, Blade, and Ghost Rider to take on a new villain created exclusively for the game.

As Marvel fans wait for the game's release, some have shared their thoughts on Reddit on which of the Earth's mightiest heroes' greatest foes will make an appearance. Whether they'll act as bosses or become playable characters to join the roster, there are some exciting theories and wishes that will hopefully come true.

Morbius

Morbius Blade

While Morbius has been seen as an anti-hero in comic books in recent years as he feeds the blood of the guilty, Morbius has fought against Blade and Spider-Man back in the 1970s. His abilities have seen him easily go toe to toe with these experienced heroes and it looks like the director of his upcoming movie will see him go through the anti-hero's journey as his standalone movie is one of the superhero movies to look forward to in 2022.

Reddit user Greatgypseyking suggested that the living vampire should certainly be a playable character with a unique play style. They suggested that "he could have a life drain/bloodlust, where each attack makes him heal or get stronger."

Knull, God of the Symbiotes

Knull sits on a throne and smiles in Marvel Comics.

Making his first full appearance in 2018's volume 4 of Venom, Knull was introduced as the sole creator of the symbiotes. The most recent villain on the list, he is also one of the most powerful as he was able to fight and kill one of the Celestials with his sword.

On a post from Graxdon, a comment from dekkitout held out hopes for a potential Symbiote-related DLC featuring the powerful deity alongside other villains. "Here's hoping for a Carnage/Darkhold/Knull expansion."

Doctor Faustus

Perhaps he's not the most immediately imposing nor powerful force on the list, Doctor Faustus is certainly one of the most manipulative. Using his psychology to manipulate others and temporarily control them, he is certainly not a man to be messed with.

Whether he will act like a boss, a playable character, or an antagonist to drive the story is hard to say. But Toapaul's comment on PcGamer85's post believes "that bearded Hydra scientist in the trailer, I immediately thought it was Faustus."

Shuma-Gorath

Shuma-Gorath opens its giant eye as Captain America and other heroes fight it in Marvel Comics.

"I'm hoping for this guy to be in the game as a boss battle." That's all that needs to be said from [deleted] with an image of Shuma-Gorath to know how much they want this villain in the game.

Traveling across the multiverse to feast on countless beings, Shuma-Gorath is one of the most ancient of Marvel's baddies and one of the most powerful Doctor Stange's villains. And he is no stranger to video games too, previously starring as one of the fighters in the Marvel vs. Capcom games.

Orange Hulk

Orange Hulk

Perhaps one of the lesser-known gamma-powered characters in the Marvel comics, the Orange Hulk resides in Earth-295. In this universe, he is a member of a group of villains who attempted to take on their world's version of X-Force.

In Blazindragon1737's post, they shared their opinion on who they thought would be the last remaining characters to be revealed. A comment from the same user thought that "Orange Hulk would also be a better choice since he gets his powers from solar radiation and it would fit the theme much better.

Apocalypse

X-Men Apocalypse

An Ancient Egyptian mutant, Apocalypse is one of the X-Men's strongest and most intellectual foes. Being able to use a wide variety of mutant powers, he has crushed many armies and super-powered beings across thousands of years that only comic fans know about him.

Despite being a post related to Marvel Strike Force, Trexsol believes a teaser posted on Twitter could be for Midnight Suns instead. And in the comment section, psykocb believed that "the pyramid as being a teaser for Apocalypse."

Doctor Doom

Doctor Doom Supreme Marvel Comics

Midnight Suns could see some major players joining the already vast roster of Marvel heroes and villains. Among the ones that have yet to be announced, Doctor Doom could serve as a major antagonist, especially with plenty of powerful variants from comics to adapt and turn into an epic boss battle.

Leader of Latvera, he was the highest-ranked villain on the poll of potentially "corrupted versions" of characters by the game's main villain, Lillith. f3lhorn's results saw Doctor Doom with 68 votes, followed by Juggernaut with 51.

Dormammu

With Doctor Strange featured as one of the playable heroes of the game, it's no surprise to see why fans want to see Dormammu in the game. The ancient and powerful entity has faced Doctor Strange and other Marvel heroes since his debut in 1964 and has made appearances in the Doctor Strange movie and Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

In a Reddit post, Azalea169 admitted that "they don't know a whole lot about the supernatural side of Marvel." However, Dormammu was a potential villain that "might be big enough to warrant their own DLC's or sequels."
