Despite his youth, Miles Morales has become one of the most beloved Marvel superheroes of all time. Not only was he a main character in an extremely successful animated film (2018's Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse), he's also going to be getting his own video game in November. Miles Morales has become a household name as another Spider-Man, even outside of the comics. However, there's still plenty of epic moments Miles has had in the comics that some fans might not know about. One of those times is when Miles became a Medieval rogue known as the Shadow-Spider.

Miles' medieval makeover was the result of a misadventure he took with the Champions in 2018. Featured in Champions #25-27, Miles and his fellow Champions had been looking for their fellow allies Nova and Wasp, who had been transported against their will by the Man-Thing. Eventually, Miles and the rest of the Champions found a way to get to them, though things got very strange really fast, as they all ended up in the ever-changing landscape of Weirdworld. Several of the Champions were transformed and gained new lives and memories in this new medieval realm: Amadeus Cho, the Totally Awesome Hulk, was turned into an orc blacksmith, while Ms. Marvel turned into Mystic Marvel. Riri Williams, Ironheart, turned into a mace-wielding paladin, though Riri seemed to be the only one who remembered their past lives as the Champions.

Miles, for his part, became the Shadow-Spider, a stealthy rogue who wielded deadly throwing knives. He also wore a magical cloak that allowed for quick escapes and teleportation. While this version of Miles was reluctant to join the other Champions, as he believed he had always been a lone wolf, the Shadow-Spider eventually joined the team and used his cloak to great effect to the help team out.

Eventually, Riri was able to gather all of the Champions, and they managed to find Nova and Wasp, who had both been corrupted by the evil at work in Weirdworld. With help from Viv Vision, Riri was able to get all of her friends to remember who they really were, including Nova and Wasp. After the day was saved, the Champions all returned home back to their own world. When Riri checked in with Miles, he promised that he doesn't actually want to be a lone wolf, but he did love wearing that awesome cloak as the Shadow-Spider.

After this magical and medieval adventure, it's no surprise that Ms. Marvel comes up with the idea for the team to play a version of Dungeons and Dragons, which was essentially what they all just experienced. It goes without saying that Miles Morales looked pretty awesome as the Shadow-Spider, and who knows: perhaps the Shadow-Spider costume could be a skin in the Miles Morales: Spider-Man PS5 game? Who wouldn't want to web swing around New York in an awesome cloak?
