The release of Marvel’s Eternals movie will be followed by an abundance of new MCU content, including 15 confirmed TV shows. Like the ones that have previously completed their seasons, all of the upcoming shows will release on Disney+. Most will release between the end of this year and 2023, but there’s a chance some may not arrive until 2024.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Marvel’s movie plans for Phase 4 have suffered. Had it not been for all the delays, audiences would have already seen Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Spider-Man: No Way Home. And instead of Eternals, it would have been Thor: Love and Thunder that debuted in the first week of November. As for Eternals, it would have been nearly a year old at this point. But that doesn’t mean 2021 has been an uneventful year for Marvel Studios. Thanks to its Disney+ plan, fans have been treated to quite a few new MCU installments in Phase 4, even in the absence of Doctor Strange 2, No Way Home, and (until now) Eternals.

Phase 4 got off to a good start with WandaVision, which turned into a massive, critically acclaimed hit for Marvel and Disney+. The series, as well as The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Loki, added important new characters to the MCU and went a long way toward setting up future MCU stories, such as Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Doctor Strange 2, and Captain America 4. Much more of that, along with a host of several new MCU heroes and villains, can be expected from the remaining shows in Marvel’s Disney+ lineup. Here’s every TV series dropping after Eternals.

Hawkeye - November 24, 2021

Hailee Steinfeld and Jeremy Renner in Hawkeye Show

After Black Widow, Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye stood out as the only original MCU Avenger not to have his own solo project. That’ll change when Hawkeye premieres on Disney+ and pairs Earth’s Mightiest Marksman with Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop, the female Hawkeye from Marvel Comics. Based on trailers for the new series, the adventure the two purple-clad archers will share will draw upon more comedic elements of the iconic character than what’s been seen of Hawkeye in the MCU. Instead of fighting aliens and gods, this time around it appears that Hawkeye will be dealing with a much more grounded story that involves gangsters and street-level villains. Among the Marvel Comics characters confirmed to be joining the MCU in Hawkeye are Echo and Swordsman. Barton may also have his hands full with existing MCU character Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), on account of a tease in Black Widow’s post-credits scene.

Ms. Marvel - Early 2022

Ms Marvel MCU Powers

2022’s first MCU TV show is Ms. Marvel, which will finally bring Marvel’s first major Muslim superhero to life. Played by Iman Vellani, Kamala Khan will ultimately go on to fight beside Captain Marvel and Monica Rambeau in The Marvels. But before that happens, the MCU will explore the teenage hero’s origin story in Ms. Marvel. A trailer hasn’t been released yet, but promotional material for the show points to Ms. Marvel getting a different set of powers and a comic-accurate costume. The show also stars Aramis Knight, Matt Lintz, Zenobia Shroff, and Mohan Kapur.

She-Hulk - 2022

Similar to Ms. Marvel, the Sensational She-Hulk will debut and star in her own very TV show in 2022. In Marvel Comics, prosecutor Jennifer Walters transformed into She-Hulk after receiving a blood transfusion from her cousin, Bruce Banner. In the MCU’s version of the story, Walters will be played by Taitana Maslany. Her first MCU story will be told as a “half-hour legal comedy” that will include appearances from Tim Roth’s Abomination and Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner. The latter’s human look in Shang-Chi’s mid-credits scene serves as an indication that he won’t be sporting his “Smart Hulk” form in She-Hulk.

Moon Knight - 2022

A six-episode first season of Moon Knight should release sometime after She-Hulk in 2022. The upcoming Phase 4 TV series will introduce viewers to Oscar Isaac’s take on Marc Spector, who is often referred to as Marvel’s Batman. While the similarities between Moon Knight and the Dark Knight are easy to spot, one thing that will make Moon Knight different to Batman’s stories is his dissociative identity disorder. In the comics, Spector hid his vigilante lifestyle by creating fake identities that eventually turned into separate personalities. Because of this element of the character, Moon Knight is believed to be a dark psychological thriller.

Secret Invasion - 2022

After being featured in numerous Marvel movies as a supporting character, Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury will lead Secret Invasion, which will be an adaptation of the comic book crossover of the same name. The source material saw the heroes of the MCU discover that some of their heroes had been replaced by the shape-shifting Skrulls. Both Spider-Man: Far From Home and WandaVision have set up Nick Fury and Talos (Ben Mendelsohn) dealing with a Skrull infiltration in Secret Invasion.

Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special - 2022

The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special

Between their team-up with Thor in Thor: Love and Thunder and their final adventure in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3., Star-Lord’s team will be the focus of a Christmas-themed story in the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special. Said to be around 40 minutes in length, the Disney+ special will introduce what James Gunn has called “one of the greatest MCU characters of all time” and bring back every current member. Of course, Zoe Saldana’s Gamora will be sitting this one out, since the search for her is being reserved for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

I am Groot

The holiday special will be one of two ways Marvel will deviate from the standard TV show format in Phase 4. There’s also I am Groot, which will be a series of shorts focused on the titular tree-like Guardian. Though this hasn’t been formally announced, many expect Vin Diesel to return as the voice of Groot in this kid-friendly MCU installment.

Marvel’s What If…? Season 2

Captain Carter raising her fist in Marvel's What If...?

Marvel has a plan and scripts ready for Marvel’s What If..,? season 2, which will continue the format of season 1, which primarily told single-episode stories about alternate scenarios based on MCU events. The first season was tied exclusively to the Infinity Saga films, but at least some of the episodes in season 2 will relate to events from Marvel’s Phase 4 movies. Also, one of the characters from season 1’s alternate realities – Captain Carter – will be making a return. A date for its premiere hasn’t been revealed, but a 2022 release hasn’t been ruled out.

Armor Wars

Armor Wars logo

In a 1980s comic book storyline titled “Armor Wars,” Iron Man went on a crusade against villains (and heroes) who had supposedly stolen his armor designs. Since Robert Downey, Jr. has exited the MCU as Iron Man, War Machine (Don Cheadle) will fill Stark’s role in Disney+’s Armor Wars show. This will mark Cheadle’s first time leading an MCU project. Presumably, protecting Iron Man’s legacy will be War Machine’s main goal in the show.

Ironheart

Iron Man’s shadow will also hang over Ironheart, a TV series about Riri Williams, a teenage genius who built her own Iron Man armor in Marvel Comics. By the time the series premieres, viewers will already be familiar with Dominque Thorne’s Ironheart, as she’ll appear first in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Since Wakanda Forever (which releases in November 2022) is supposed to precede Ironheart, a 2023 premiere is likely.

Loki Season 2

Loki show poster disney plus featured

Earlier in 2021, Loki became the first Disney+ series to receive a second season order. Given its record-breaking success on the streaming platform, the news wasn’t exactly surprising. While Loki season 1’s ending was clearly meant to set up Kang the Conqueror for Ant-Man 3 and quite possibly Doctor Strange 2’s multiverse shenanigans, there’s no question that the fallout from Sylvie’s decision to kill He Who Remains and Kang’s rise at the TVA will be focal points of the next story. In addition to Tom Hiddleston’s God of Mischief, Loki season 2 should continue where the finale left off with Sylvie, Mobius, and Ravonna.

Wakanda Spinoff

Black Panther's nation of Wakanda.

The world that Marvel and Black Panther director Ryan Coogler built in Phase 3 will be revisited beyond Wakanda Forever. An untitled Black Panther spinoff will dive deeper into T’Challa’s homeland and explore some of the characters who live there. Reportedly, the series will be overseen by Coogler and enter production sometime after Marvel wraps Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. So far, no specific characters from either Black Panther movie have been announced to return for the show.

Okoye Spinoff

Okoye looking serious in Black Panther

If the news about the Wakanda spinoff gave the impression that it would be the new home of Danai Gurira’s Okoye, it’s since become apparent that Marvel actually has much bigger plans for her character. A TV series centered on the Dora Milaje leader is said to be one of a handful of projects that Marvel is putting into production in 2023, which means it might be on the schedule for 2024.

Echo Spinoff

Marvel Comics Echo

Hawkeye hasn’t even been released yet and Marvel already has a spinoff in the works for one of its new characters. The aforementioned Echo is a Deaf Native American superhero and the original Ronin in the comic books. Not unlike Black Widow’s Taskmaster, her superpower is that she can copy the movements and skills of others. The MCU’s Echo will be portrayed by newcomer actress Alaqua Cox.

Werewolf by Night Halloween Special

Werewolf by Night roaring and launching at someone in Marvel Comics

It was reported months ago that Marvel has a second Disney+ seasonal special in development, except this one will have a Halloween theme. The lead character will be Werewolf by Night, a notable hero from the supernatural corner of the Marvel Universe in the comic books. Gael García Bernal will reportedly play the character. Obviously, Werewolf by Night being a Halloween special means that its earliest possible release date is October 2023. But since very little is known about the project, it may be 2024 before it arrives.
