Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings star Simu Liu has a pretty excellent response to President Donald Trump's latest tweet about the United States election: He is Iron Man. Best known for his role on the Canadian sitcom Kim's Convenience, Liu was officially cast in the MCU after years of lobbying Marvel for a role on social media. In 2021, Liu will debut as Shang-Chi, kung fu master and the MCU's first Asian lead on the film side. Very little is known about Shang-Chi's plot, but the film will also feature Awkwafina in an unknown role and Tony Chiu-Wai Leung as the real Mandarin.

Originally, Shang-Chi was slated for release in February 2021. Production began earlier this year, but it quickly ran into a roadblock when the coronavirus pandemic suspended work. When Marvel readjusted its entire Phase 4 release calendar, Shang-Chi saw itself delayed twice. Currently, Shang-Chi is scheduled for July 2021, making it one of the most anticipated parts of the summer movie season. Liu and the rest of the cast wrapped filming on Shang-Chi last month, meaning as long as theaters are up and running next year, this movie hopefully won't be delayed again.

As Liu awaits his MCU debut, he continues to delight and amuse on social media. His latest tweet takes aim at the exiting President Trump, who recently posted that he won the United States election. This is not the case, as Joe Biden was projected to win over a week ago. Liu mocked Trump's tweet by writing in response, "I AM IRON MAN." Marvel fans know this to be one of the most iconic lines from the franchise, and it's fitting that Liu decided to pull it out now.

This isn't the first time a star has pulled out a pop culture reference in response to Trump's messages, as last week saw Game of Thrones' Night King actor Vladimír Furdík declare he won the Battle of Winterfell in a similar manner. While Furdík's tweet arguably made a bit more sense because it was referencing a victory, Liu's is still just as funny. Even without his MCU entrance, Liu has shown his enthusiasm for the franchise, and it's exciting to know he'll soon be a part of it.

At this point, fans would just like to actually see Liu in action. Nothing official has been released from Shang-Chi just yet, but Marvel could debut something early on in 2021. In the meantime, Liu can surely be counted on for more fun social media interactions, and fans will continue to theorize about what will happen in Shang-Chi. At this point, that's really all anyone can do.
