Fans of Marvel Comics and their Netflix-only adaptations may already be dreaming of The Defenders - the team-up of small screen heroes now confirmed for 2017 - but before we get there, fans first need to see each of the solo heroes introduced. And while audiences have already met Daredevil, Jessica Jones and a pre-solo-series Luke Cage (who now his own teaser trailer), the last to join the fray is Danny Rand, better known to comic fans as Iron Fist.
As Marvel rolled out marketing materials in a flurry of fan service at San Diego Comic Con, fans were treated to not only their first look at an official Iron Fist logo (or two), but the very first glimpse of the show's story, including Finn Jones' take on the martial arts master (who clearly needs to get through some trauma before joining his fellow superheroes).
Take a look at the teaser trailer below:
Those familiar with the character's origins in the comics will see some familiar images, from the family trauma faced by Danny, to the snowswept mountains and monks that will help unlock his true potential. It's anyone's guess how he winds up barefoot in New York City, but one thing is for sure: no psych ward has invented a wall that Danny Rand can't smash through.
Daredevil season 1 & 2 and Jessica Jones season 1 are now available on Netflix. Luke Cage season 1 will arrive on September 30th, 2016. The Defenders and Iron Fist arrive in 2017. Release dates for Jessica Jones season 2, The Punisher and Daredevil season 3 have not yet been announced.
