On Netflix, Marvel has enjoyed great success with its comic book based shows, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage. Following those three is Iron Fist, the last of the four superheroes who will ultimately make up The Defenders. Starring Finn Jones as Danny Rand/ Iron Fist, alongside Jessica Henwick, Jessica Stroup, and Rosario Dawson, Iron Fist follows Danny's return to New York after years of being missing, following the death of his parents. In his absence, Rand has become an expert in martial arts, and is now in possession of the mystical "Iron Fist" power.

Ahead of Iron Fist season 1's Netflix debut in March and The Defenders miniseries premiere sometime this summer, the second trailer for the show has dropped online. You can check it out, above!

The new Iron Fist trailer offers a good look at the basic premise of the show, as well as a more detailed look at the skills Danny Rand has. As with all Netflix Marvel shows thus far, Dawson is reprising her role of Claire Temple here, and she can also be glimpsed in the trailer.

The Defenders - Iron Fist (Finn Jones)

Iron Fist will serve as an origin story for the Marvel Cinematic Universe version of Danny Rand. As the trailer details, his return to civilization doesn't exactly go smoothly, and a lot of people want him out of the way, very quickly. Luckily for him, Danny can harness the power of the Iron Fist, enabling him to not only defend himself, but also to fight crime.

While the trailer above doesn't really give much away in terms of plot, it does hint at a show that has a bit of a Daredevil vibe to it; plenty of martial arts-based fighting and a criminal underworld masquerading itself as a respectable business in the big city. It will certainly be interesting to see what other connections there are to the previous Marvel/Netflix TV shows.

Iron Fist appears to showcase Jones' acting/fighting abilities nicely, and should set the perfect scene for The Defenders, which will arrive on Netflix later this year and unite Jones with Krysten Ritter, Charlie Cox, and Mike Colter as Jessica Jones, Matt Murdock/ Daredevil, and Luke Cage, respectively. There's also The Punisher TV series slated to debut this year, though its connections to Iron Fist and The Defenders season 1's storylines have yet to be revealed.
