Marvel and Netflix have now released three successful series together in the form of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage. These street-level superheroes will eventually join together in the Avengers-style team-up show, The Defenders. But first, Danny Rand is preparing to introduce himself to the live-action world in Iron Fist, which hits the streamosphere next March. The series will be helmed by showrunner Scott Buck (Dexter), with Finn Jones (Game of Thrones) filling the role of the titular hero. He will be joined by Jessica Henwick (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) as fellow crimefighter Colleen Wing to take on the villainous businessman, Ward Meachum.
Having started just today, and running through Sunday (October 9th), the New York Comic-Con is sure to be a treasure trove of reveals and goodies for fans of the medium. For instance, Marvel is handing out promotional tattoos that include a link to the video above, which details the production of a very snazzy Iron Fist cover by artists Jay Anacleto and colorist Romulo Fajardo.
Beneath the cover, fans will find a comic book prequel to the Iron Fist television series. According to CBR, this is reportedly available for attendees at the Marvel Booth (#1354). MCU Exchange snapped a still image of that cool cover on a banner at the convention. Worth noting, the image shows our first look at both the live-action Danny Rand’s chest tattoo and glowing iron fist full of chi.
Considering most of the set photos we’ve seen make Danny look like a homeless hippie, it’s nice to see some official imagery of him in full-on hero mode. Granted, this isn’t a guarantee of the final look of the hero for the still incomplete series, but it’s a fair bet that this is what they’re currently shooting for. No word yet on whether or not Danny will end up wearing a yellow hood and fabulous green tights by the season’s resolution.
Fans of the Iron Fist comics, has this comic cover convinced you that Finn Jones will own the role? Let us know your thoughts in the comments, and stay tuned to Screen Rant for updates on Iron Fist as they hit.
