Marvel Comics has released it's most recent teases of its new events and storylines, including the upcoming Venom storyline that will see the powerful villain Knull coming to Earth. However, the advertisement teasing Knull's plans gracing the back page of Marvel's latest Marvel Universe preview book is hilariously (and unintentionally) inappropriate.

Donny Cates and Ryan Stegman's Venom arc has been an absolute blast, as the duo has breathed new life into the character while introducing some new elements to symbiote world. The most intimidating threat brought forward in the arc is Knull, the God of Symbiotes, who's responsible for the existence of the symbiote that has affected Venom and Carnage. Knull is a bad dude, who's lore has slowly and smartly been teased by Cates and Stegman. In an advertisement for the upcoming "Knull" arc, Marvel's word and text combo choice leave a lot to be desired.

In this month's Marvel Universe, the back cover features advertising for Cates and Stegman's upcoming Venom arc starring Knull. At first glance, there's nothing off about the promo, as a white text is featured on a bloody black background. However, when you take a closer look you'll notice that the white text is dripping and when paired with the phrase "Knull Is Coming" it seems quite inappropriate. Making matters a little funnier is that Twitter users have pointed out that Knull translates into f**k in Norweigian. We try to keep things PG around here, so we'll let your imagination run wild onto how this ad might be considered offputting.

Stegman pointed out that the only place Knull is coming... is to Earth.

Marvel's marketing department either knew exactly what they were doing here or messed up in a hilarious way. The good news is, that for an advertisement on a preview magazine, people are talking about it online. What does that famous expression go like? 'There's no such thing as bad press.' In this case, Marvel might be a little embarrassed that some view the preview as an unintentional NSFW mix-up, but at the end of the day, it's harmless, hilarious, and has drawn even more discussion to the upcoming Venom storyline. Ultimately, the ad should be considered a win. As, for better or worse, people now know for sure that Knull, is in fact, coming.
