Hulu has revealed the first images for its upcoming Marvel series Helstrom. Initially put into development alongside a Ghost Rider series, Helstrom was ordered by Hulu last year. While Ghost Rider never made it past the pre-production stage, Helstrom got a full cast and began production not long after. Filming on the first season of Helstrom wrapped up back in March, managing to get in just ahead of the countless production shutdowns caused by the coronavirus pandemic. While it doesn't yet have an official release date, Hulu is aiming to debut Helstrom in the fall of this year as part of their Halloween-themed "Huluween" programming block.

Helstrom will certainly fit in among the spooky content offered around then thanks to its horror-based premise. Siblings Daimon (Tom Austen) and Ana (Sydney Lemmon) Helstrom are the children of a powerful and mysterious serial killer, and they devote themselves to tracking down the absolute worst of humanity. In addition to Austen and Lemmon, Helstrom stars Elizabeth Marvel, Robert Wisdom, June Carryl, Ariana Guerra, and Alain Uy.

Hulu has unveiled the first look images for Helstrom, which showcase the entire cast. More information on Helstrom will arrive with the show's Comic-Con@Home panel. Thanks to the ongoing pandemic, San Diego Comic-Con is going virtual this year on July 22 through July 26. The Helstrom panel will take place on July 22 at 3 PM PST.  There's a chance the panel could include the first trailer for the series, as well as an official release date. Most likely, these images have been released to help hype up Helstrom's upcoming panel.

Since it's a Marvel show, there's already a layer of anticipation attached to Helstrom. While it likely won't have the same kind of connections to the MCU that the upcoming Disney+ shows will have, Helstrom also stands out as being a supernatural horror series. The MCU hasn't yet tapped into the horror genre, though it reportedly will with 2022's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of MadnessStill, Helstrom can dig even deeper into its scary elements thanks to its position on Hulu and by remaining separate from the MCU. This will surely help it stand apart from the other comic book shows out there. Helstrom won't debut for another few months, but anticipation might already be building.
