A new trailer for Marvel's upcoming Helstrom show teases the Son of Satan's powers. The series will premiere on Hulu next month, with all ten episodes of season 1 releasing Friday, October 16. Helstrom is based on the similarly named Hellstrom family from the comics. As the children of a serial killer, Daimon and Ana hunt those who hurt others, while also dealing with their institutionalized mother, Victoria. Daimon is also known as the Son of Satan, with Helstrom being his live-action debut.

The show has been affected by behind-the-scenes changes at Marvel. It was originally developed under Marvel Television, which folded into Marvel Studios late last year. Following this move, the series name was changed, as it was originally called Marvel's Helstrom. This is partly because of the show's horror elements, which aren't in line with Marvel's usual brand. The first trailer for Helstrom, released during this summer's Comic-Con, showed off the scarier aspects of the show, which should be an interesting departure for the studio.

The new footage plays up Helstrom's creepy elements as well. Some of the trailer, which Hulu released this week, repeats the same moments shown in the original preview. However, there are a few new parts, including a first look at Daimon's powers at the end. Hulu also shared some key art for the series, which looks more like a horror movie poster than one for a Marvel show. Check out the Helstrom trailer and new image below:

The glimpse at Daimon's powers make him look like a strong force in Helstrom. It remains to be seen how his powers will come across in the series, especially on a TV budget. For those already excited about the show, this trailer should make them even more eager for season 1. However, those on the fence may still be looking for something that sets Helstrom apart from other supernatural shows. Since the first ten episodes are releasing all at once, viewers should get an idea very quickly if the series is for them.

If Helstrom is well-received, Disney, which owns both Hulu and Marvel, may have a dilemma on its hands. The studio is trying to focus its efforts on the Marvel Cinematic Universe shows premiering on Disney+ soon, and other Marvel shows may take away from that. However, with movies delayed and theme parks far from operating at peak capacity, Disney is more focused on streaming than it once was. It will be interesting to see if Helstrom's debut helps the company at all or if the show becomes a one-season wonder.
