Marvel Comics is celebrating their most iconic couples with a series of Stormbreaker covers from a group of talented artists. This week, Marvel revealed five new variant covers (out of nine total) featuring some of the best romances in comics, including Daredevil and Elektra, Cyclops and Jean Grey, as well as Mystique and Destiny. The covers will be released throughout December and are must pick-ups for fans of Marvel's best relationships.
Since it began publishing superhero stories, Marvel Comics is home to some of the most beloved and iconic relationships in all of pop culture. Among their A-list romances include Spider-Man and Mary Jane Watson, Vision and Scarlet Witch, Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman, Black Bolt and Medusa, Black Panther and Storm, and Cyclops and Jean Grey. The romances have often been celebrated inside the pages of each pair's stories. Now, Marvel Comics' latest Stormbreakers release will feature some iconic couples sharing tender moments on the cover of new variants.
On Thursday, Marvel announced nine new variant covers celebrating the greatest romances in comics. The Stormbreaker variant covers each feature a different iconic couple from the Marvel Universe. First up, Juann Cabal created this heartwarming moment between a hero and (sometimes) villain, as Daredevil and Elektra hold each other in the new Stormbreakers variant for Daredevil #36. The cover can also be flipped upside down for a different perspective. The variant releases November 17th, 2020.
Mister Fantastic and The Invisible Woman share a passionate kiss in the Stormbreaker variant cover for Fantastic Four #38 by Natacha Bustos. Reed Richards' stretchy body makes an adorable heart shape out his legs, while Sue Storm's lower body starts to become invisible as they share a smooch. The variant releases November 17th.
It wouldn't be a celebration of Marvel's greatest couples without Jean Grey and Cyclops. In Iban Coello's Stormbreaker variant for X-Men #5, the heroes prepare for battle while they hold hands. The cover is out on November 11th.
Up next, Marvel's Destiny and Mystique star in this gorgeous Peach Momoko variant. The iconic couple's Stormbreaker variant on Inferno #3 comes to comic shops on November 24th.
Lastly, Spider-Man and Mary Jane Watson swing into action on this cute Stormbreaker variant from R.B. Silva. The variant cover will be available on November 24th.
Marvel Comics also announced a Storm and Black Panther cover by Joshua Cassara, a Vision and Scarlet Witch variant from Carmen Carenro, and a Captain America and Sharon Carter cover from Patrick Gleason. Marvel's best relationships with grace the Stormbreaker variant covers when they begin releasing on November 11th through the 24th.
