Marvel Comics' Galactus is coming for Earth in real life. While this is obviously not really the case, the Internet would like to think so, thanks to a recent report from NASA scientists, who discovered something very mysterious occurring 15,000 lightyears away.

Galactus is a giant cosmic Marvel villain, known as the Devourer of Worlds, due to his massive size and ability to consume the energy of planets until they have been reduced to nothingness. Often sending heralds to prepare for his arrival, he has often tried to consume Earth on multiple occasions, only to have its heroes foil his efforts. He even had one of his heralds, the Silver Surfer, defects and protect worlds from his attacks, who could no longer bear being a part of the horrors and destruction Galactus would inevitably bring.

In actuality, NASA discovered a strange anomaly 15,000 lightyears away in the system known as S 433. Over time, scientists observed a massive cosmic cloud that essentially had a steady and rhythmic heartbeat, the result of a black hole 100 lightyears away inexplicably powering the consistent beating. As a result, social media grabbed a hold of this report with a fervor, creating the explanation for NASA: the heartbeat belongs to Galactus himself, made real, and coming to Earth to end 2020 once and for all.

Take a look at some of the responses, like one from famous fan artist @BossLogic:

Not only that, but some users like @NerdTruth were quick to specify that based on NASA's information, the Galacutus that would be coming to Earth would be the film version from the Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, which was not so well-received as it didn't look like Galactus from the comics at all. Instead it looked like...a cosmic gas cloud:

For better or for worse (depending on how bleak one's outlook is concerning this current year) Galactus won't be coming to consume our world in real life. Even if he wanted to, he's definitely way too busy with problems of his own among the stars along with Thor, the God of Thunder, and new King of Asgard. Lately, Galactus has been living in fear over something known as the Black Winter. He's so concerned in fact, that he made Thor is newest Herald, giving him cosmic energies as the Herald of Thunder. Together, they've been trying to prepare and gain enough power to hopefully hold back the coming storm that promises to wipe out the entire Marvel Universe as they know it. In any case, it doesn't seem as though Galactus will be coming for Earth in Marvel Comics or in real life any time soon.
