The 'Fresh Start' Marvel Comics relaunches are listed by release date, beginning May 2nd, 2018.

1. The Avengers #1

"Thor Odinson. Steve Rogers. Tony Stark. The Big Three of the Avengers are reunited at last! And just in time to save the world from total annihilation at the hands of their most powerful enemies yet: the 2000-foot-tall space gods known as Celestials. Behold the coming of the Final Host. Who will answer the call to assemble for a wild new era of Earth's Mightiest Heroes? Hint: one of them has a flaming skull for a head. And what strange, world-shaking connection exists between the Final Host and Odin's ancient band of Prehistoric Avengers?"

Release Date: May 2nd, 2018

There's no more acclaimed writer in the modern Marvel Universe than Jason Aaron. No surprises, the mighty Thor will be leading this team of new AVENGERS along with the old classics Captain American and Iron Man. The main trio may seem like Marvel returning to its strongest, most recognizable leads - and you would be right. But with Aaron and McGuinness telling the story, and characters like Ghost Rider, Black Panther, and Doctor Strange filling out the team, a simple restart is worth a shot.

2. Venom #1

"In the wake of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s collapse, an ancient and primordial evil has been awakened beneath the streets of New York, and with it, something equally evil has awakened in that most Wicked of Webslingers – VENOM! Still a Lethal Protector of the innocents in New York, this never-before-seen threat could force Venom to relinquish everything it holds dear – including Eddie Brock! Join two of the hottest creators in comics today, Donny Cates and Ryan Stegman, for a VENOM adventure a thousand years in the making!"

Release Date: May 9th, 2018

The tagline promoting this new VENOM book as a horror story "a thousand years in the making" may be daunting - even more daunting than the character itself. The history of Eddie Brock and the alien symbiote has gotten complicated, to say the least. But Cates and Stegman have been quick to promise that their relaunch is friendly to newcomers. So if all you know of Venom is his incredible look, his unstoppable powers, and the interplay of torture and teamwork that make up the antihero, you shouldn't miss this one.

3. Black Panther #1

"A bold new direction for the Black Panther! For years, T'Challa has fought off invaders from his homeland, protecting Wakanda from everything from meddling governments to long-lost gods. Now, he will discover that Wakanda is much bigger than he ever dreamed... Across the vast Multiverse lies an empire founded in T'Challa's name. Readers caught a glimpse of it in MARVEL LEGACY #1. Now find out the truth behind the Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda! Ta-Nehisi Coates welcomes aboard fan-favorite artist Daniel Acuña for a Black Panther story unlike any other!"

Release Date: May 23rd, 2018

That's right the hero BLACK PANTHER is leaving Earth for space, to dive into the Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda. It's a story that stretches back to Jonathan Hickman's New Avengers/Secret Wars. But readers will likely be brought back up to speed given how much time has passed since then. Ta-Nehisi Coates has done well enough with the main Black Panther series to earn a promotion to Captain America as well, so we're too eager to follow him into space, too.

4. Immortal Hulk #1

"HORROR HAS A NAME. You'd never notice the man. He doesn't like to be noticed. He's quiet. Calm. Never complains. Why, you can walk up and shoot him in the head... and all he'll do is die. Until night falls. And someone else gets up again. The name is Banner. The horror is THE IMMORTAL HULK."

Release Date: June 6th, 2018

Al Ewing is no stranger to Marvel fans, and his pairing with Joe Bennett promises some serious skin-crawling tension and horror. Not exactly what you would expect from a Hulk story, but that's where IMMORTAL HULK stands apart. Considering Bruce Banner's recent murder and resurrection - and now the confirmation from Marvel that Hulk has always been immortal - a new age is dawning for the big green giant. Apparently, less 'friendly' than ever.

5. Doctor Strange #1

"THE EYE OF AGAMOTTO IS CLOSED! Doctor Stephen Strange has lost his connection to the Earth's arcane power, and he can't wait to recover while nightmares press against the seams of our reality. Tony Stark offers a 21st-century solution: when astral travel fails, try astronautical travel. Enter Doctor Strange: Space-Explorer Supreme! New spells, allies and enemies--new and old--await Strange beyond the stars, along with corners and secrets of the Marvel Universe, seen here for the first time! Space is endless, but time is short. After years of threats, Stephen's bill for magic-use is coming due--who will come to collect?!"

Release Date: June 6th, 2018

The line between science-fiction and outright magic has been blurred since the beginning of superhero comics, and the new DOCTOR STRANGE series is doubling down on the idea. A story sending Doctor Strange into the mystical corners of space in search of a new magical energy source would be intriguing on its own. But add in Mark Waid and Jesús Saiz, and this one is most definitely one to watch.

6. The Sentry #1

"THE GOLDEN GUARDIAN IS BACK! ...but is that really such a good thing? The greatest hero that the Marvel Universe ever forgot has returned! The Sentry – shining sentinel with the power of a thousand exploding suns – is back from the dead, but his troubled mind is far from finding peace. By day, he trudges through a mundane life as Bob Reynolds; at night, the Sentry soars across a gleaming, perfect skyline. But how much of the Sentry’s dual existence is real? And what of his other dark self, the Void? Jeff Lemire (MOON KNIGHT, Black Hammer) returns to Marvel and unites with Kim Jacinto (AVNEGERS: NO SURRENDER) for this mind-bending series that will shake the Sentry, and the Marvel Universe, to its foundations."

Release Date: June 6th, 2018

Since the THE SENTRY is the least well-known  title hero in this list, it's no surprise to see writer Jeff Lemire helming his comic book return. A talent unlike any other for stories that twist the mind of both heroes and readers, Lemire alone makes this comic one to keep an eye on. The fact that the questioning of reality is built into the pitch, and Kim Jacinto's presence means this one has potential to be the biggest 'Fresh Start' surprise.

 7. Deadpool #1

"Skottie Young and Nic Klein bring you the craziest tales of the regeneratin' degenerate yet! It's been a while since Deadpool's had to merc to make ends meet, but things are tough all over. While Deadpool tries to get his humble mercenary-for-hire business back off the ground, a catastrophic threat so unfathomably huge, so mind-breakingly cataclysmic it defies description, is heading towards Earth, and there's only ONE PERSON WHO CAN STOP IT!!! Oh no, wait, it's... it's not Wade, is it? Oh, ????. It's Wade."

Release Date: June 6th, 2018

After getting intensely burned in Captain America's Secret Empire, it's only fair for DEADPOOL to get his own series relaunch. From the sound of it, a story that returns Wade Wilson to his smaller-scale job of killing for money. Until he's tasked with saving the entire world - typical. But c'mon... as if anyone needs to be convinced to check out a Deadpool #1.

8. Thor #1

"THE GOD OF THUNDER IS BACK Thor Odinson has regained his mantle! And he's got a wild new world of trouble on his mighty hands. The artifacts of Asgard have been scattered across the earth, and to reclaim them, Thor will have to face some ugly truths. Like the production cost on hundreds of new hammers! And the Thunder God is going to need every last one of them if he's going to stop the unstoppable Juggernaut. Jason Aaron takes the Prince of Asgard in a whole new direction with YOUNG GUN artist Mike Del Mundo joining him at the helm! And don't miss the latest chapter of the King Thor saga with acclaimed BLACK BOLT artist Christian Ward, as the Thor of the far future encounters an old friend who's undergone some startling changes."

Release Date: June 13th, 2018

Considering his success to date, Jason Aaron is entitled to remain at the helm of his THOR saga. With Jane Foster out and Odinson back as Thor, a new chapter is beginning. One in which Thor will need to not just prove he's worthy, but tackle the responsibilities that come with it. In short: getting what remains of Asgard back in order, which means a run-in with Juggernaut first and foremost.

9. ANT-MAN AND THE WASP #1 (of 5)

"Wasp was just trying to help Ant-Man get home to Earth to see his daughter... but a little problem got in the way. Very little. Subatomic, in fact, as Scott Lang was lost in the vast spaces between atoms! Now, Nadia is his only hope of rescue... if only he would listen long enough for her to save them! From master storyteller Mark Waid (CAPTAIN AMERICA, CHAMPIONS) and Marvel Young Gun artist Javier Garron (SECRET WARRIORS, STAR-LORD) comes a story of a big journey getting smaller all the time!"

Release Date: June 6th, 2018

With ANT-MAN AND THE WASP getting a movie of their own in Marvel's cinematic universe, Mark Waid and Javier Garron are crafting a five-part comic series putting the atom-sized heroes into the spotlight. From the synopsis, the comic sounds like a newcomer-friendly adventure, and while there may be differences between the comic versions of the heroes and the movie, more Waid is always welcome.

10. Tony Stark: Iron Man #1

"From the cusp of tomorrow's dreams to the forefront of imagination, one man always soars on the cutting edge of adventure! You know his name. Tony Stark is Iron Man. And Iron Man... is an idea. Always changing. Always evolving. An idea without limit! Take wing with DAN SLOTT (AMAZING SPIDER-MAN) and Valerio Schiti (GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY) as they propel the ultimate Self-Made Hero to new heights of inventiveness! Tony Stark is Iron Man. The future is now. Strap in!"

Release Date: June 20th, 2018

After the outlandish events of the Civil War II event, Tony Stark's subsequent coma, kidnapping, and 'evolution,' it's time for Iron Man to make his true return to Marvel's Universe. Dan Slott leaves a successful run on Spider-Man to take the reins of Tony for the "future" of the hero. A future that's already promised to be filled with 'hundreds' of new Iron Man suits - need we say more?

11. Captain America #1

""WINTER IN AMERICA" For over seventy years, he has stood in stalwart defense of our country and its people. But in the aftermath of Hydra's takeover of the nation, Captain America is a figure of controversy, carrying a tarnished shield. And a new enemy is rising! Who are the Power Elite? And how do they intend to co-opt and corrupt the symbol that is Captain America?"

Release Date: July 4th, 2018

A relaunch for Captain America is, in some sense, overdue (following his return at the end of Secret Empire). But the title being taken over by Ta-Nehisi Coates was less of a given, and from the synopsis the politics of a hero who literally wears the American Flag aren't going to be ignored. It's a time unlike any other in the America of the real world, and Coates promises to explore just what a walking figure of 'Yesterday's America' means in a modern context. With Leinil Yu on art, this book could be a future classic.

12. The Amazing Spider-Man#1

"It’s a Brand New D-- No, wait a second. Spider-Man’s gone Big Time-- That’s not right either. Spider-Man’s Rebir-- Definitely not THAT. AMAZING SPIDER-MAN gets a BIGGER, BRAND NEW SERIES courtesy of Nick Spencer (SECRET EMPIRE, SUPERIOR FOES OF SPIDER-MAN) and the Marvel debut of RYAN OTTLEY (Invincible)!!!!! An alien invasion attacks NYC and the only one who can stop it is… Spider-Man?! But that’s FAR from all you’ll find here—A revelation from the past puts Peter Parker’s job, relationships and WHOLE LIFE in jeopardy! And if even THAT’s not enough, you’ll see a new roommate, new love interests and a new villain!!!

Release Date: July, 2018

Since Slott's departure from the main Spider-Man book is hard news for any fan, the synopsis for this reboot emphasizes the biggest selling points. "New" is the operative word, and with Nick Spencer taking over after stirring up controversy with Secret Empire, Marvel fans are cautious. But big ideas and unexpected stories are still more desirable than cause for concern - and Spencer launched one of the biggest in recent years. Ryan Ottley also makes his first jump to Marvel from Image's Invincible, meaning an influx of outside fans widens the bullseye for this reboot to try something new with everyone's favorite wallcrawler.

13. The Life of Captain Marvel #1

"Carol Danvers was just a girl from the Boston suburbs who loved science and the Red Sox until a chance encounter with a Kree hero gave her incredible super powers. Now, she's a leader in the Avengers and the commander of Alpha Flight. But what if there was more to the story? When crippling anxiety attacks put her on the sidelines in the middle of a fight, Carol finds herself reliving memories of a life she thought was far behind her. You can't outrun where you're from - and sometimes, you HAVE to go home again. But there are skeletons in Captain Marvel's closet - and what she discovers will change her entire world. Written by bestselling author Margaret Stohl and drawn by fan-favorite comics veteran Carlos Pacheco, this is the true origin of Captain Marvel."

Release Date: July 4th, 2018

The weirder the origin story, the more likely to see it simplified or re-imagined for continuity when the hero in question lands a blockbuster movie. The timing doesn't hurt for THE LIFE OF CAPTAIN MARVEL retelling Carol Danvers's origin story, but fans of the original need not panic. Writer Margaret Stohl isn't promising a retcon or massive change, simply folding in the story Captain Marvel fans know with details and perspectives never seen before. What better way to get ready for Captain Marvel's movie debut?
