Marvel Studios reveals Eternals movie concept art that shows what each member of the main cast will look like in their costumes for the Marvel Cinematic Universe film. Last month at San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige unveiled the first two years of Phase 4, which will include a few sequels - including Thor: Love and Thunder as well as Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness - as well as some new properties joining the franchise. One of these is Eternals.

During Marvel Studios' Hall H panel at SDCC last month, Feige took the chance to introduce the majority of the main cast of Eternals: Angelina Jolie as Thena, Richard Madden as Ikaris, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Salma Hayek as Ajak, Lia McHugh as Sprite and Don Lee as Gilgamesh. In the weeks since SDCC, more have joined the cast, including Gemma Chan, Barry Keoghan and Kit Harington - though those three weren't officially confirmed until this weekend during D23 Expo. As part ot the Walt Disney Studios presentation at D23, Feige revealed who Chan, Keoghan and Harington will be playing in Eternals, and debuted concept art of the main movie characters.

During the Walt Disney Studios panel at D23 Expo 2019, Feige was on hand to tease the MCU's Phase 4 slate, including Eternals. As part of his presentation, he unveiled a first look at Eternals concept art for the character designs of Ikaris, Kingo, Makkari, Phastos, Ajak, Sprite, Gilgamesh, Thena, Druig (Keoghan) and Sersi (Chan). Check out the concept art below.

Eternals Concept Art Costumes

Although not included on stage at D23 nor in the concept art, Feige confirmed Harington will play Dane Whitman aka. Black Knight in Eternals. It's likely, since Harington's MCU casting was only first reported the day before the movie panel at D23, that Marvel Studios didn't have time to put concept art of Harington's Black Knight together. As for Chan and Keoghan, their Eternals casting was reported more than two weeks ago, ensuring Marvel had time to commission the concept art of Druig and Sersei.

Like many of the MCU superhero costumes, those for the Eternals main cast are more grounded - some might say, muted - than the suits from the original comics. As creations of the late Jack Kirby, the Eternals of the Marvel Comics were colorful with fantastical costumes and character designs. While the Eternals movie characters retain some of those bright colors, based on this concept art, their costumes are all slightly different versions of the same basic suit. However, it's possible many of the details are lost in translation through this photo of a projection of the concept art. It's also possible these aren't the final designs of the Eternals costumes and changes happen when the costumes are actually constructed.

As such, fans will have to wait and see what the main characters of Marvel Studios' Eternals look like in the final cut of the movie. However, with Eternals expected to start filming soon ahead of its 2020 release date, fans may get to see the fully realized live-action costumes soon enough. If nothing else, they'll get to see the characters come to life in the Eternals trailer when it premieres sometime next year.
