Marvel’s Eternals star Kumail Nanjiani got jacked for his upcoming superhero venture - see some photos. Avengers: Endgame was indeed the ‘end’ for some beloved heroes such as Iron Man and Captain America, but now Marvel Studios is gearing up for Phase 4 of their cinematic universe. Phase 4 begins with Black Widow in May 2020 and then moves on to what Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, called a “risk,” Eternals.

Similar to Guardians of the GalaxyEternals may be an unknown commodity for general audiences, and with indie director Chloé Zhao leading the charge for this film, it represents another gamble by Feige and his team. Eternals stars Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden, Nanjiani, Lauren Ridloff and Salma Hayek, and it tells the story of super-powered beings who were created by the Celestials. Despite fans at CCXP getting a glimpse of the characters in their costumes in the first footage for the movie, and Feige revealing Eternals takes place over 7, 000 years, details of the plot are still unknown. Along with the Marvel Studios president’s belief that they need “to continue to grow and evolve,” one of the stars of the film showed his own personal growth for the production.

On his Instagram, Nanjiani posted two “thirsty shirtless” images, which show the comedy star looking jacked and showcasing his new abs that would make a lot of people in Hollywood jealous. In addition to the images, Nanjiani stated he “never thought” he’d post shirtless images, but he has “worked way too hard for way too long.” In his post, he said: “I found out a year ago I was going to be in Marvel’s Eternals and decided I wanted to transform how I looked. I would not have been able to do this if I didn’t have a full year with the best trainers and nutritionists paid for by the biggest studio in the world.” He concluded by thanking his wife Emily Gordon for putting up with his “complaining and talking” about all things working out and dieting for the past year.

Nanjiani, who recently starred in action-comedy Stuber, joins a long list of Marvel body transformations. Paul Rudd gained muscle for his role in Ant-Man, Chris Pratt famously got fit for his career-changing role in Guardians of the Galaxy, and Chris Evans gained an incredible amount of muscle mass for his roles in the Captain America movies.

At CCXP, rough footage of Eternals reportedly showed Nanjiani’s “Bollywood inspired” Kingo, but few expected this sort of transformation from the Pakistani-American stand-up comedian. The transformation will likely add some more interest in his role because he’s never shown off his body in this fashion before, and this is a nice new addition to the snippets of information we continue to learn about Marvel’s Eternals.
