Marvel Comics is revealing the true cost of the most powerful Doctor Doom in the Multiverse's magic, and it's absolutely horrifying. In a new preview for Avengers #53, the shocking effects of Doctor Doom Supreme's deadly attack on the Avengers are showcased. As he attacks the main Marvel Universe, his magic has a ripple effect across the Multiverse, causing death and destruction on a near-unfathomable scale.
In the Avengers ongoing series from Marvel Comics, the superteam faces one of their biggest threats ever as the Multiversal Masters of Evil have arrived in their universe. The villains, the product of Mephisto and Doctor Doom Supreme, have ravaged the Multiverse with a series of deadly attacks as they try to gain control of all realities in the Marvel Universe. The Doctor Doom Supreme-led Multiversal Masters of Evil are now turning their focus to Avengers Celestial headquarters, where Deathlok reveals the true cost of the magic-users powers.
In a new preview for Avengers #53 by Jason Aaron, Javier Garron, David Curiel, and VC's Cory Petit, the reality-hopping Deathlok explains to the superteam of the true cost of Doctor Doom Supreme's magic as he attacks their Celestial base. He notes that using magic comes with a price that the magic-user or cosmos must pay, but Doom Supreme has done his best to channel that elsewhere. Deathlok reveals that the destruction Doom causes in his attack on the Avengers will lead to "thousands of planets" withering, millions of babies "burning alive inside the womb...", and a billion "nightmares becoming real and devouring the face of their dreamers." In their reality, the Avengers' Celestial base is hit hard by Doom's attack.
Deathlok suggests to Black Panther that he can connect to the Celestial base and interface with its mind to fight the attack by Doctor Doom. Black Panther agrees after Deathlok explains Avenger Prime sent him to help. Valkyrie and Namor agree to help defend Avengers Mountain as Kid Thanos attacks.
Doctor Doom Supreme inflicts massive death and destruction across the Multiverse as a result of his spells, making the true cost of his magic one of the greatest threats the Avengers have faced yet. Taking down Doctor Doom Supreme so that they can stop the widespread chaos and calamity caused by his spells has to be priority number one for the superteam as they prepare to defend their Celestial headquarters from the Multiversal Masters of Evil's attack. The Avengers take on Doctor Doom Supreme in Avengers #53, which arrives in comic book stores on Wednesday.
