There are reportedly no current plans for Marvel to release its Disney+ shows on Blu-ray. The studio is in the midst of an exciting time thanks to several high profile releases. In January, WandaVision, the Marvel Cinematic Universe's first Disney+ show, debuted to critical and viewer acclaim. That was followed by The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which saw Sam Wilson emerge as the new Captain America. The next series, Loki, is in the middle of season 1, with many already praising the show's inventive use of time travel and the chemistry between stars Tom Hiddleston and Owen Wilson.

However, those three series are only the start of Marvel's Disney+ plans. Ms. Marvel will be the first led by a character brand-new to the MCU in Kamala Khan, played by Iman Vellani. Hawkeye will feature the return of Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton, but it will also introduce Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop, in one of Marvel's most talked about castings in recent years. Those shows will be followed by Moon Knight, which promises to explore a grittier side of the MCU, as well as She-HulkSecret InvasionIronheartArmor Wars, and more.

With so many exciting Marvel Disney+ shows still to come, as well as the popularity of WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, it's understandable some are starting to wonder if the series could be released on Blu-ray, providing another way to watch. Unfortunately, per TVLine, there are reportedly "no plans" to release current or upcoming Disney+ MCU shows on Blu-ray as of now.

Scarlet Witch in WandaVision and Falcon and the Winter Soldier

Though this news is likely disappointing to some, it makes sense Marvel and Disney aren't in a rush to release the shows on Blu-ray. WandaVisionThe Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and Loki have been major hits for Disney+, bringing in subscribers at a time when the company at large is particularly reliant on the streamer's performance due to movie delays. Because they've been so successful on Disney+, there isn't much incentive for Marvel to rush out Blu-ray releases. While there are some viewers who would likely want to own the shows in a more tangible form, others are probably content to revisit them on Disney+.

Of course, without a Blu-ray release, there's no guarantee audiences will always be able to watch the MCU shows whenever they want, which is why many are still drawn to buying DVDs and Blu-ray discs. It leaves them less dependent on streaming deals and other unknowns. Luckily, that shouldn't be an issue with the Marvel shows; as Disney+ original series, they should theoretically live on the streaming service forever. For now, that will have to be enough for those enjoying WandaVisionThe Falcon and the Winter SoldierLoki, and more.
