The Defenders: Rosario Dawson, Scott Glenn & Rachael Taylor Confirmed

Marvel's The Defenders cast continues to grow as Claire Temple, Stick, and Trish Walker are confirmed to appear on the Netflix miniseries.

[SPOILERS for those not caught up on the Marvel/Netflix series ahead.]

Marvel and Netflix are continuing to move their street level corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe forward in a big way. After two seasons of Daredevil and the premiere seasons of Jessica Jones and Luke Cage, only Iron Fist remains in bringing all of the Defenders to the small screen. Finn Jones has yet to debut as Danny Rand, but he will appear with Marvel's other Netflix heroes in 2017's The Defenders - which is currently filming. Leaked photos have already revealed Krysten Ritter on set as Jessica, and later having a stand off with Misty Knight, who was previously confirmed to appear in The Defenders.

With production now underway, the cast has continued to been fleshed out with familiar faces from the Netflix corner of the MCU. The announcements began with Karen Page being confirmed, followed by official confirmation that Foggy Nelson, Jerri Hogarth, and Malcolm (from Daredevil and Jessica Jones' first seasons) will be appearing too. Now, three more MCU characters are officially set to appear in The Defenders.

The Defenders Twitter account has posted another moving poster, confirming that Rosario Dawson, Scott Glenn, and Rachael Taylor will appear in The Defenders as Claire Temple, Stick, and Trish 'Hellcat' Walker respectively. Claire's inclusion follows the pattern of keeping her in every Marvel/Netflix show, with Stick's official announcement not being a surprise - as he was heard speaking (via voiceover only) during The Defenders teaser trailer that debuted at the 2016 San Diego Comic-Con.

Thanks to these confirmations, seemingly every notable MCU/Netflix character, super-powered or not, will be appearing in The Defenders mini-series. This brings the heroic corner of the cast up to twelve and counting, as other characters such as Colleen Wing or Punisher could potentially be appearing as well. There have also not yet been any additional/new characters added to the roster in the fight for good.

It appears as though it will be all hands on deck in order to save Hell's Kitchen from the mystery villain that Sigourney Weaver is playing, and with filming underway, her character could be revealed in a matter of days. If The Hand (from Daredevil season 2) plays a big role in The Defenders as rumored, fans should also be on the look out for confirmation of Elodie Yung returning as Elektra. Characters such as Claire, Stick and Trish could get in on the fighting themselves.

Claire takes a flyer to train with Wing at the end of Luke Cage, which could give her a chance to stand on her own as a hero, and fans have already seen Stick and Trish have some action scenes as well. Most fans will be hoping that The Defenders will be the place where Trish suits up as Hellcat for the first time, but without knowing the size of her role, it is impossible to say with absolute certainty that it will happen. However, her appearance does leave the door open to the possibility, so for now fans will have to wait and see who, exactly, joins the ranks of the street-level heroes of Hell's Kitchen in their first team-up.
