Marvel Comics is debuting a new Avengers team which is set to appear in the upcoming The Marvels #1. The new roster features both new and familiar faces, including Captain America, Iron Man, the Human Torch, a new Golden Age version of Vision, as well as new heroes Warbird and Kevin Schumer. In a preview for the first issue, the team assembles against Lady Lotus and looks to make an immediate splash.

The Marvels #1 is by Kurt Busiek, Yildiray Cinar, Richard Isanove, and Alex Ross. The series is a decades-spanning adventure, which will cover serious ground across the Marvel Universe, beginning with the very first heroes in the 1940s. The comic will also have the first appearance of new characters designed by legendary artist Alex Ross, like Kevin Schumer and Warbird, who previously haven't appeared in Marvel Comics. The original version of  Vision/Aarkus who's more alien-looking than the one readers know is also set to return in the series.

In a new preview for The Marvels #1 from CBR.com, Captain America comes face-to-face with Lady Lotus, who calls him stupid for challenging him alone. That's when Steve Rogers pulls out some advanced tech teleporter balls which summons the Avengers. This version of the team is a diverse, electrifying squad with Captain America, Aero, the Human Torch, Golden Age Vision, Black Cat, Iron Man, Storm, Kevin Schumer, and Warbird banding together to face the threat. The Marvels' Avengers are a team that's never been seen before, which makes them even more thrilling to see in action.

The ongoing series from Busiek, Cinar, Isanove, and Ross is set to have some notable events occurring as the Avengers assemble against Lady Lotus. Previews for the series showcase an alien invasion, Reed Richards during his time with military intelligence, and cosmic beings from across space and time making an appearance. There's also a mention of a being named KSHOOM, who will play a big part in The Marvels #1.

By now, readers have seen just about every version of the Avengers. However, The Marvel's #1 is doing something entirely new, bringing heroes from different backgrounds together to form a team that feels immediately fresh and exciting. The character that stands out the most at first glance is the Golden Age Vision - whose alien appearance is striking - but this whole team is intriguing. The Marvel's is set to be a wild ride chalked full of surprises, new and old. The Marvel's #1 debuts in comic book stores and online on April 28, 2021.
