Marvel announced World War Hulk II sealing the fate of Amadeus Cho, who has been the current incarnation of the raging green monster since 2015 in Totally Awesome Hulk! Vol. 1. The upcoming comic book run will be a sequel to 2007's beloved World War Hulk storyline.

Cho, who was created by American writer Greg Pak and Canadian artist Takeshi Miyazawa, was borne out of Pak's efforts to offer better representation of America in the comics. In addition to the existence of Black Panther, Sam Wilson and Storm, the writers wanted to bring more Asian characters into the Marvel Comics fold. After a couple of comic book runs that dove into the backstory of Cho - from the tragedy of his parents' death to a chance interaction with Bruce Banner and even a key involvement in The Incredible Hercules, the genius eventually took over the mantle as the Hulk. Now, his journey is slowly nearing its end.

After his current adventures on Sakaar during his "Planet Hulk" run, which he will apparently survive, Cho will find himself back on his home planet. But the character is still not in the clear as his next outing in World War Hulk II is being dubbed by Marvel as “the storyline that will bring Amadeus Cho to his ultimate destiny.”

As part of the official announcement, Executive Editor and SVP Tom Brevoort, shared some insights as to what fans can expect from the new comic book run:

“World War Hulk II, of course! To survive on the savage world of Sakaar, Amadeus Cho was forced to unleash his darkest impulses! Returning to Earth, now the Hulk is at the wheel—and it’s a more unpredictable, more unconquerable Hulk than any we’ve seen before! The heroes of the Marvel Universe must intercede as the Formerly Awesome Hulk begins to carve his own path across the world.”

We're expecting that Cho's venture into outer space will have some effect on him once he lands back on Earth and based from what Marvel is teasing, it appears that he will return more barbaric and ruthless than ever. This will result in an intense battle between him and other game players in the current Marvel Comics universe such as his Champions teammates, Alpha Flight, Black Panther and a whole lot more.

World War Hulk II will be written by Pak with illustration courtesy of Carlo Barberi. The comic book will be rolled out this coming March. In the meantime, check out the cover from Mike Deodato Jr. for its first issue above.
