Morbius was supposed to hit theaters in 2020, but was delayed six different times. By the time it comes out in April 2022, the movie will have been finished for over two years. However, even with the long delay, things have been mostly kept close to the vest when it comes to the storyline and characters.
There are characters known for Morbius, including the main character, Dr. Michael Morbius, who becomes a sort of living vampire. Also coming from the comic books is Matt Smith's Loxias Crown, Tyrese Gibson's Simon Stroud, and Adria Arjona's Martine Bancroft. However, there are other members of the Marvel Comics Universe who should appear in Morbius.
Peter Parker/Spider-Man
There have been rumors that Spider-Man could cameo in Morbius for a long time. Most of those rumors focused on Tom Holland's Marvel Cinematic Universe version of the hero. However, thanks to the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home, that does not seem possible since Morbius is in Venom's world and that is a different Earth in the multiverse.
The new rumors are that Spider-Man could still appear, but it could be Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man who lives in Venom's world. This could be a great way to have the new love for Garfield's Spider-Man pay off in the Sony Spider-Man movies.
Curt Connors/Lizard
If the Earth Morbius lives on is the one with Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man, that means it is also where the Lizard was a villain. This is hugely important in the world of Morbius. When Morbius first appeared in Spider-Man comics, he was involved in a three-way battle with Spider-Man and Lizard.
This made sense because both Lizard and Morbius were similar villains, two men who were inherently good but became monsters when they used science to try to cure themselves. Having Curt in the movie could give Michael someone who has been there before.
Eddie Brock/Venom
Eddie Brock lives in the same world as Michael Morbius. This was made clear in the trailers when Morbius claimed he was Venom to a bad guy before laughing it off. There was also a moment where Simon Stroud mentioned the San Francisco event, which involved Venom.
Since Sony wants to tie its universe together, having Eddie Brock show up even in a post-credit scene would be smart. Eddie and Spider-Man could even both show up in the scene, setting up their eventual conflict.
Adrian Toomes/Vulture
Michael Keaton is in Morbius. He was shown in the trailers where he told Morbius that the two of them should get to know each other better. That was the first clue that this was in the MCU Spider-Man world. However, that can't be true now.
Two things could happen here. Morbius could write Keaton out of the movie and not include him at all in the finished product. However, it would be better if he was there and maybe the movie could explain that he is a different Vulture, perhaps one who never found the redemption that he did in the MCU.
J. Jonah Jameson
It was fun to see a different version of J. Jonah Jameson in the MCU. Instead of the news publisher, he was an online vlogger who still makes Spider-Man's life hell. It was also great to see J.K. Simmons back in the role after he was so good in Tobey Maguire's trilogy.
Having a third version of J. Jonah Jameson, now in the world of Venom and Morbius, would allow Simmons to continue to tear it up as the antagonistic newsman. The Daily Bugle exists in this world, so it goes to reason Jameson does too.
Kraven The Hunter
The first movies in Sony's Spider-Man world were Venom and Morbius. The next is Kraven the Hunter. This is one of Spider-Man's best comic book villains and he has never been introduced in any movie in the history of the character. If he is coming next, the post-credits here would be a great place to start.
Fans want to see what is upcoming for the franchise's future in the post-credits. Kraven needs to be there, even if just setting out to hunt down his next prey - whether that is Venom, Morbius, or even Spider-Man himself.
Felicia Hardy/Black Cat
Sony had been hinting at a movie with two female leads, putting Black Cat and Silver Sable into a movie called Silver & Black. If the world of Morbius is the same as Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man, that means that Felicia Hardy, the Black Cat, was already introduced.
This was Felicity Jones' role in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. She worked for OsCorp and was Harry Osborn's former assistant. Even if the Silver & Black movie never gets made, it would be nice to see Felicia Hardy show up in some role or another.
Emil Nikos
Not all the comic book characters that could appear in Morbius need to be superheroes and villains. Emil Nikos and Michael grew up together and both became brilliant scientists. It was Emil who worked his entire life to help find a cure for Michaels's blood disease. Emil accidentally turned Michael into the living vampire.
Morbius killed him for it without meaning to. The trailers already show this is not what happened, but killing his close friend haunted Morbius and forced him on the right path, and that could work in the movie. Jared Harris is rumored to be playing a different take on Nikos.
Jessica Drew/Spider-Woman
Right now, the only ones who seem to be hunting for Morbius are the police, led by Simon Stroud. However, one character that Sony still has up its sleeve to release could also be part of this manhunt. Jessica Drew is a secret agent who is also known as Spider-Woman.
Whether she showed up in the MCU along with her best friend Carol Danvers or the Spider-Man world remains unknown. However, it is most likely she is under the Sony Spider-Man banner, and there are still no female heroes introduced there. If not Black Cat, no one is a better option than Spider-Woman.
The Legion Of Monsters
While there is no way that they will play a major role in Morbius, it could be a lot of fun for Morbius to discover the existence of the League of Monsters in the movie. Morbius was a member and this group included the Living Mummy, Man-Thing, Manphibian, and Werewolf By Night.
There is almost no chance that Werewolf will appear since Jack Russell is rumored to be part of the MCU as part of Moon Knight and Blade's corner of the franchise, but Morbius finding other monsters could be a lot of fun.
