The final days of Old Man Logan are counting down, but before he truly becomes Dead Man Logan the Wolverine plucked from a nightmare future has one last mission: ensure his future can't happen even after he's gone... no matter who he must kill along the way.

It's hard to believe, but only six months (and dropping) remain in Wolverine's life. And to make that ticking clock official, Marvel Comics decided to end the Old Man Logan series with him killing a Hulk, before launching a final, twelve-issue series. We've got the exclusive preview of Dead Man Logan #5, and are more than happy to report that in his quest to save the future, a whole host of Neo-HYDRA soldiers have volunteered to help sharpen his claws.

For the fans who might not know the backstory behind Old Man Logan, it's enough to say that in his parallel Earth, the supervillain Mysterio deceived him into killing the X-Men, allowing the Avengers to be killed by allied villains - ruining America for all time. So with Wolverine's healing factor failing in old age, Logan has set out to kill the prime version of Mysterio before he can ever repeat the attack. But Mysterio isn't the threat on Marvel's primary Earth... in fact, he's leading Logan and an X-Men strike team to the real enemies.

The action kicks off in the preview pages for Dead Man Logan #5, confirming once again that HYDRA footsoldiers are determined to always be unprepared for the X-Men. Take a look at the pages embedded below:

After launching a surprise claw-strike that proves comic books can always get away with more than PG-Rated Wolverine movies, the pages show that Logan's effectiveness in combat isn't hampered by his failing healing factor. And while we still aren't sure whether Mysterio is truly helping the heroes in defeating the Neo-HYDRA leadership, the allied heroes heading for their island base are a force to be dealt with. But with seven issues left before Dead Man Logan makes good on its name, something tells us a few more twists are in store.

Marvel fans will need to pick up the full issue on Wednesday to know just what Mysterio, the X-Men, and Logan are up to next, but until then, read on for the full synopsis and details below:
