When Marvel Comics creates supervillains, they usually have specific weaknesses that superheroes can manipulate to win battles. However, these can't be easy ones or the battles won't be as exciting. There are some villains, however, that don't seem to have any weaknesses and these are the bad guys that every hero struggles to overcome.

At the same time, there are also villains who have weird, and often unknown weaknesses that heroes often stumble across as a last resort. These weaknesses are rarely used, which is why they remain unknown to a majority of readers but are still important enough to bring the Marvel villains to their knees.

Sandman - Extreme Heat

Sandman fighting Spider-Man in the comics.

Sandman, one Spider-Man villain deserving of redemption, has one biggest weakness and that has always been water. This is the one thing that Spider-Man has always used to stop the big man, who can at times seem almost unbeatable when he is at full power.

However, it isn't Sandman's only weakness. He also has a weakness when it comes to extreme heat. This also ties into the molecular structure of sand. Any heat over 3,400 degrees will cause his entire body to turn into glass, which takes him completely out of the fight without killing him.

Carnage - Electricity

Symbiotes have two major weaknesses - both fire and loud noises take most out of a fight. However, Carnage is different and is not affected by sonic attacks, which makes him impervious to much of the noise weakness, thanks to the elder God Chthon's magic.

However, Carnage does have another weakness that not as many people talk about. He is vulnerable to electricity and Absolute Carnage #1 by Donny Cates and Ryan Stegman showed how it incapacitates the Marvel villain.

Absorbing Man - Automatic Absorption

Absorbing Man fighting the Avengers in Marvel Comics.

Absorbing Man likes to consider himself more powerful than anyone because he can absorb anything's qualities and turn his body into a force of power. He can touch Vibranium and his body turns into a giant Vibranium weapon. This is the same thing with Adamantium, steel, iron, or even Uru from Thor's hammer.

However, he can't control his powers, and anything he touches is immediately absorbed. Shoot water at him, and he turns into water and loses whatever he was using before.

Klaw - Vibranium

Klaw firing his sound blast in Marvel Comics.

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Klaw's past showed that he made his way to Wakanda and stole Vibranium, making him an enemy of the state. In the comics, he is also one of Black Panther's most hated enemies and has often pushed the boundaries of Wakanda's natural resources as well.

However, Vibranium is also Klaw's biggest weakness in the comics. He gained his powers thanks to Vibranium, but the material also absorbs all energy, and when there is enough Vibranium, Klaw's entire body can end up absorbed into his sound converter.

Red Hulk - Overheating

Red Hulk breathing fire in the comics.

Hulk has more power than almost anyone and when he gets angry and opponents keep pushing him, he gets stronger and stronger. There doesn't seem to be a limit to Hulk's powers when his rage gets out of control.

However, Red Hulk is the opposite. While General Ross is almost as strong as Hulk when powered up, he has a limit. When Red Hulk exerts too much energy, his body overheats. If he doesn't step back and rest, he burns out and turns back into Ross, and he can't change back into Red Hulk for a certain amount of time.

Rhino - Lack Of Coordination

Rhino charging at an enemy.

Rhino is almost unstoppable when he starts his charge. Similar to someone like Juggernaut or Blob, when he gets moving he will crush or destroy whatever he hits and nothing will stop him.

However, there is a big difference between Rhino charging and other big heroes with similar powers. Rhino has almost no mobility in his armor and this lack of coordination hinders him in a fight. When Rhino battles someone quick and nimble, like Spider-Man, he often finds he can't pack a full punch in a charge because he can't change movements on the run.

Galactus - Magic

Galactus knocked down by Thanos in the comics.

There are few individuals as powerful as Galactus. He is one of the first beings in existence in the current universe, as old as other cosmic beings, like Phoenix Force. He also plays a large role in the balance of the universe, eating dying planets and allowing others to form in its place to keep the universe in balance.

However, Galactus is not all-powerful and the Ultimate Nullifier is something that can beat him. He also has a vulnerability to magic, as his powers are based purely on science. Galactus was banished with a magical spell once and later infected with a virus by Dormammu.

Annihilus - Overreliance On His Cosmic Control Rod

Annihilus opens his mouth as fire rages behind him in Marvel Comics.

Annihilus is another extremely powerful cosmic being. He lives and rules happily in the Negative Zone. When he has tried to expand, it took an entire army of Kree and Nova Corps soldiers to fight him back in Annihilation. His biggest weakness is his arrogance, as he believes no one is more powerful.

However, he also has another weakness. He uses the Cosmic Control Rod around his neck to control cosmic energy. It also helps keep him alive and well. When a hero can separate the Rod from Annihilus, he immediately weakens.

Dormammu - Stuck In His Own Realm

Dormammu ruling his dimension in the comics.

Dormammu is one of the most powerful demons in all of the Marvel Universe. However, he has one thing that keeps him from being all-powerful and that is that he is only at full power in the Dark Dimension.

While he has encountered powerful beings in the past, such as Doctor Strange, even the Master of the Mystic Arts knows that he can't beat Dormammu, and as long as he keeps the demon in the Dark Dimension, the rest of the universe is safe. When leaving the Dark Dimension, he loses much of his power, although he still remains immortal.

Thanos - Deems Himself Unworthy

Adam Warlock yelling at Thanos in the comics.

Thanos remains one of the universe's most powerful villains. In Marvel Comics and the MCU, Thanos almost beat every hero in the world. In the MCU, he snapped half the beings in the universe out of existence, but when the Avengers came for him after this, he fell to Thor easily.

In Infinity Gauntlet, Adam Warlock explained this when he told Thanos he never wins because he does not consider himself worthy of victory. Thanos had a history of abuse and still doesn't consider himself someone who is worthy.
