Kevin Feige reveals that plans for the Marvel Cinematic Universe now go up until 2032. Not long after the end of the Infinity Saga, which played out for roughly a decade, Marvel Studios is currently busy developing new projects as it continues to build the franchise. And per Feige's recent quote, it doesn't seem like they have any plans of slowing down anytime soon.

Kicking off in 2008 with Robert Downey Jr. and Jon Favreau's Iron Man, the MCU has grown exponentially over the last 10 years. Its first three Phases culminated in Joe and Anthony Russo's Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. Now, after an extended hiatus, the franchise is back in full swing with Phase 4. As part of its rapid expansion, Marvel Studios has also established itself as a streaming player with a string of exclusive Disney+ content — all of which are part of the next overarching narrative that they are building on. Known for playing the long game, the MCU's confirmed slate runs until 2023, but, within Marvel Studios, Feige and his team have planned the franchise way beyond that.

While attending the ongoing CinemaCon 2022, Feige revealed that the MCU's storytelling plan now runs up until 2032. That's a full decade worth of narrative from now, although he doesn't say how the projects will be segmented into Phases or if they will continue with that structure. The blueprint includes new and old characters as it continues its transition from the Infinity Saga to a brand new overarching story.

As previously mentioned, the MCU's confirmed slate only runs until 2023, with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania as the final dated film in its line-up; the Peyton Reed threequel is set to hit theaters July 28, 2023. That said, fans also know that there are several other projects, both films and TV shows, in development that are waiting to get a release schedule. That includes the upcoming Disney+ series like Secret Invasion, Armor Wars, and Ironheart. On the big screen, films such as the Fantastic Four reboot, Blade, and Captain America 4 have yet to be slotted in MCU's release plan. Besides these, essentially confirmed sequels like Spider-Man 4, Doctor Strange 3, and Black Panthers 3, not to mention, Deadpool 3, among others, are also expected to roll out in the next decade. These don't even include other secret ventures that Marvel Studios is currently working on including a potential X-Men project. Given these, it isn't difficult to imagine that MCU has filled out its release dates in the next decade.

It's interesting that Feige is willing to open up about this detail considering that he previously admitted that laying out their future content plan has a negative impact on the MCU. Firstly, it motivates fans to focus on what comes next instead of the franchise's current storytelling. Secondly, there's not enough wiggle room to change them without drawing varied opinions from the public. The Russos famously said that there wasn't really any grand plan for the MCU; instead, Marvel Studios make it up as they go. Perhaps that was how things were in the Infinity Saga and the studio changed its storytelling approach for Phase 4 and beyond. Otherwise, this decade-long slate could just be a general road map of what the Marvel Cinematic Universe will look like moving forward. Regardless, what's clear is that the franchise isn't slowing down anytime soon.
