For more than ten years, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has grown and expanded across different planets, realms, and galaxies. Considering the vast number of productions to look forward to in the coming years, the MCU shows no signs of stopping anytime soon either.

Over the many movies and TV shows, one of the highlights has been the friendships forged. Some are pure, some are rival-based, but a handful are hilarious. The comedic bonds made on-screen have given fans many moments to laugh at and they often come from a select few sets of friends.

Scott Lang & The X-Cons

Scott’s loyal friend Luis is the one to pick him up as soon as he’s released from jail in Ant-Man. Moments later, Scott is greeted by Dave and Kurt as well and viewers can immediately feel the camaraderie the four men share.

Each of them is comical individually, therefore mixing them all together only leads to more fun and occasionally absolute nonsense, though in the best way. This joyous group continues to entertain in Ant-Man and the Wasp and is expected to do so in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania next year.

Sam Wilson & Bucky Barnes

This pair met during Captain America: The Winter Soldier, but it wasn’t until the release of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier that audiences were able to see how entertaining it is to watch Sam and Bucky together.

The two bicker like an old married couple in the first few episodes and nearly seem to hate each other before their dynamic begins to morph into friendly teasing and banter over the last couple of episodes. Sam’s joking nature combined with Bucky’s sarcasm makes for a very successful and entertaining friendship between the two.

Thor, Korg, & Miek

2017's Thor: Ragnarok introduced the hilarious character Korg and his friend Miek. These two assist Thor in escaping Sakaar and form a friendship that lasts for years, as seen in Avengers: Endgame as they trio play video games with each other in a shared home.

Nearly every line out of Korg earns a laugh from audiences, so that coupled with Thor’s own comedic personality and Miek’s presence only multiples the amount of laughter. Luckily, fans will be able to see more of this group with the release of Thor: Love And Thunder in early July.

Peter 1, 2, & 3

The recent release of Spider-Man: No Way Home gave fans the unexpected pleasure of seeing Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield returning as Spider-Man on the big screen. Their versions of Peter Parker instantly formed a close bond with Tom Holland’s Peter Parker and the chemistry among the three heroes was phenomenal.

Each variant’s personality complemented each other in a way that allowed them to take care of business in a light-hearted manner. Watching these three interact was one of the most entertaining bits of 2021, and audiences can only hope to see them together again in the future.

Shang-Chi & Katy Chen

Shang-Chi and Katy serve as valets

Shang Chi and Katy have been best friends for a long time, as audiences learned in Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and there’s certainly not a dull moment between the two. Their charisma bounces back and forth effortlessly, with Shang Chi’s easy-going attitude and Katy’s slight awkwardness adding an amusing layer to their friendship that makes it so enjoyable for fans to watch.

Katy has always been upfront with Shang Chi as well, which leads to hilarious lines of dialogue after learning the truth of his childhood. This couple, who many fans have begun to ship romantically, is expected to bring cheer to audiences again in the confirmed Shang Chi sequel film.

Loki & Mobius

Loki and Mobius met after the mischievous god stole the Tesseract in Avengers: Endgame and wound up in the TVA’s hands in the Disney+ series Loki. Off the bat, the two’s dynamic is amusing to those watching as Mobius doesn’t hold his tongue when talking to Loki.

All his life, Loki has had people conceal their opinions of him, whether it be to protect his feelings as early as Thor or out of intimidation after the events of The Avengers but Mobius has no problem teasing him. The way in which the TVA agent treats Loki certainly catches him off guard and his reactions to Mobius’ dialogue are priceless.

Tony Stark & James "Rhodey" Rhodes

Tony and Rhodey talk about the Iron Man Suit

Perhaps the MCU's first friendship, Tony and Rhodey have been friends even before the events of Iron Man in 2008. They've remained close over the entirety of the MCU, up until Tony's sacrifice in Avengers: Endgame, and have been enjoyable to watch every second.

Tony is known for his sarcasm and quick remarks and Rhodey can easily match him in that aspect, landing a lot of his own funny lines as well, which is only one of the reasons why this pair got along so easily. Audiences will no doubt miss watching Tony and Rhodey interact with one another on screen as the MCU continues to grow.

Peter Quill & Rocket Raccoon

These two misfits meet one another after being arrested and detained together in the Guardians of the Galaxy. The whole group as a whole is undoubtedly one of the funniest elements of the MCU, but Peter and Rocket’s constant bickering and competition is on a different level entirely.

As much as they argue and annoy one another, amusing the audience to no end, it is clear that they still have each other’s back at the end of the day. They may just happen to poke fun at the other’s appearance or yell at one another before doing so.

Carol Danvers & Nick Fury

Fury and Captain Marvel

Carol meets Nick Fury, before he even becomes Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. after she unintentionally arrives on Earth in Captain Marvel. The two begin to work with one another and form a delightful friendship along the way. Carol is fairly nonchalant, sarcastic and witty by nature, and Fury happens to share these traits as well.

As the movie progresses and the duo learns to trust each other, audiences are able to watch them grow closer without any secrecy. They even begin to tease one another in funny one-liners for minor things throughout the film, leading the audience to chuckle at the unlikely pair.

Kate Bishop & Yelena Belova

Though these women have only recently met in Hawkeye, Kate and Yelena’s interactions have set the foundations for a potentially beautiful friendship that is absolutely entertaining to watch. The bit of love-hate that they had for one another in the final episodes of the series made for a funny relationship that may only strengthen in the future, especially with recent rumors of a Black Widow sequel starring Florence Pugh and Hailee Steinfield.

Audiences already have confirmation that Kate likes Yelena’s personality, thanks to the “So This Is Christmas?” episode of Hawkeye, so it’s only a matter of time until they become best friends, just like the Hawkeye and Black Widow before them.
