Season 3 of Amazon's The Boys is spiraling towards completion, with Homelander continuing his reign as the strongest of all Supes. Few have dared to challenge The Seven's leader. Whether it's through his super strength or his body melting heat vision, Homelander has proven time and time again that he's one of the strongest characters out there.

However, should he find himself in the Marvel Universe, there are a number of characters that are already far stronger than him, have the durability to take whatever Homelander can throw at them, and have their own abilities to defeat him without much of a fight. While these ten characters come from several different teams, they've done enough to show that they're easily beyond Homelander's ability to fight.

Luke Cage

Luke Cage Mike Colter

Luke Cage doesn't just have unbreakable skin; he's also really strong, being able to lift over fifty tons. But should he have to take a punch or two, his invincible skin can shield him from the most devastating of blows.

While Cage isn't the strongest Marvel character out there, his durability certainly makes up for that. He can take anything Homelander can throw at him without batting an eyebrow before dishing it right back to him. Though Cage may not be able to actually kill Homelander, his invincibility gives him the edge, while his strength would certainly be enough to at least incapacitate Homelander long enough for even stronger heroes to finish the job.

Captain Marvel

Carol Danvers has quickly become a staple part of the core Avengers roster, and it's easy to see why. She's been shown to be able to lift Celestials and can absorb energy attacks to add to her own strength, making any sort of energy attack against her useless.

The later ability already puts Homelander at a disadvantage. Without his heat vision to rely upon, all he has left to fight with is his strength. And Carol has already proven that she's a lot stronger and faster than him. Combine that with her years of Air Force training and fighting alongside the Avengers, and Homelander doesn't stand a chance against her.

Namor

Namor ruling over Atlantis in the comics.

As the king of Atlantis and member of the X-Men, Namor has seen his fair share of wars, even fighting alongside Captain America in World War II. While his power level is heavily dependent on water, he has been measured to be strong enough to lift up an entire island.

Going up against Homelander, Namor has enough strength to keep his opponent at bay while also being tough enough to survive even his strongest blows. The biggest threat would be Homelander's heat vision, which can dry Namor out, depriving him of his powers over time. But as long as the tiniest amount of water is nearby for him to touch, Namor's strength will be restored to their peak, enabling him to defeat Homelander with ease.

Hercules

An image of Hercules fighting a screaming Typhon in Marvel Comics.

As the god of strength, this power house's strength levels are practically unlimited. Hercules has fought the Hulk to a draw, and has even pulled the island of Manhattan all by himself once. His body is practically invincible, and even if he should be injured, a healing factor would kick in. Add that to his hundreds of years of combat experience, and Hercules is a massive powerhouse that few would dare challenge.

Hercules's strength alone makes him stronger than Homelander. But his prowess at fighting gives him an even greater edge. Homelander's reliance on his superpowers carrying him through fights has made him weak in hand to hand combat. If facing an enemy on par or over his own strength, like Hercules, Homelander's lack of combat skills  would be his downfall.

Wonder Man

While he doesn't look like much, Simon Williams is comprised of ionic energy. Due to this, his strength levels have been compared to Thor's, making Wonder Man one of the strongest Avengers. Not only that, he's also shown enormous durability, taking heavy blows from opponents as strong or stronger than him.

Although he's a pacifist, Wonder Man is easily a hero that Homelander can't beat with his usual brute force tactics. Unfortunately, his heat vision wouldn't do much good against him either. Wonder Man, as a being comprised of pure ionic energy, can easily survive blasts such as this. Plus, his healing factor can help him survive deadly blows and even regenerate severed limbs, making whatever Homelander does to him easily reversable.

Apocalypse

Apocalypse as he appears in Marvel comics

Apocalypse has been shown time and time again to be one of the X-Men's greatest threats, and for good reason. His strength levels have reached far beyond most, and he's been shown to be able to survive shouts from Black Bolt.

Apocalypse's strength gives him an edge over Homelander as it is. But his wide array of abilities are what really sets him apart. Being able to change his size and shoot energy blasts certainly is enough to give him the edge over Homelander. But what really seals the deal is Apocalypse's ability to absorb energy to make himself stronger. Energy like, say, Homelander's heat vision. These powers and more are enough to put Apocalypse over the top.

Black Bolt

Black Bolt's strength is beyond insane. His powerful voice could potentially destroy anything from Darkhold corrupted sorcerers to entire planets, his strength level has been on par with The Incredible Hulk, and he's survived a bomb that destroyed a Shi'ar space fleet during the War of Kings event.

Black Bolt's strength alone puts him above Homelander. But his powers push him even further out of Homelander's level. His heat vision wouldn't have much effect on the Inhuman's king, as he has shown to be able to survive re-entry. And when it comes to fighting back, Black Bolt insane voice is all he really needs. He just has to whisper "Die," and Homelander would be completely vaporized.

Ghost Rider (Johnny Blaze)

Ghost Rider looks on with a flaming skull

As the Spirit of Vengeance and the current King of Hell, Ghost Rider has tangled with powerful enemies such as Mephisto. And the Ghost Rider has demonstrated plenty of strength and powers to combat these demons, most notably his penance stare and his ability to weaponize hellfire.

While his penance stare would likely have no effect on him (due to it not working on people who enjoy violence), Blaze's other powers put him above Homelander's level. Not only could his strength levels be raised to incalculable levels due to Ghost Rider's divine nature, but the hero has demonstrated an impressive healing factor, healing even from a crushed skull, making this fight a no brainer.

Doctor Doom

Doom in Lightning Storm

Doctor Doom is no doubt one of the greatest villains in Marvel history--as well as one of the most powerful. Granted, most of that power comes from his armor, but that doesn't change his status as a tough opponent to beat. After all, the armor alone has taken a full blast from the Infinity Gauntlet without taking much damage.

That kind of durability makes it possible for Doom to survive Homelander's punches and heat vision while being able to fight back at the same time with his armor's various weapons and magical enhancements. Even without his armor, Doom is a powerful magic user and a skilled fighter. He also has an entire country of resources to call upon, including an army of Doombots ready to assist their creator in taking Homelander down.

Sentry

Sentry standing among lightning in Marvel Comics.

Sentry is clearly one of the strongest Marvel characters in existence. Not only has he tanked blows from the likes of Thor, but he also once destroyed Asgard itself during 2010's Siege event. Many times his power level has been described as having the strength of "a million exploding suns."

With that kind of raw power already at his fingertips and no clear upper limit to his abilities, Sentry seems to have no equal. So, when going up against Homelander, it's clear that the leader of The Seven has no chance against him. Sentry's own energy blasts, strong enough to burn the Hulk's skin, would turn Homelander into nothing more than a smoking stain on the sidewalk.
