The Marvel Cinematic Universe has become one of the biggest fictional worlds in the entirety of mainstream media, and the Marvel comic universe is exponentially larger than that. The success of this multimedia juggernaut comes as no surprise though, since it's many villains, heroes, and downright normal people have given everyone in the world at least one character that they can relate to.

But of course, everyone is going to have their favorite characters, as well as those characters that they barely understand. So with that in mind, which Marvel Universe characters can those born under the sign of Sagittarius relate to, and which ones do they not understand at all?

Will Relate To: Thor

One of the easiest Marvel characters for any Sagittarius to relate to has got to be Thor, because this zodiac sign and this hero are extremely fundamentally similar.

Thor is tough, can be pretty aggressive, but is ultimately an extremely friendly and easygoing individual who occasionally gets caught up in shenanigans because he didn't think things through enough before jumping in with both feet. And that could just as easily describe any Sag.

Won't Understand: Groot

To be fair, there really aren't many people who can understand Groot, and there are not a lot of things to understand about this monosyllabic tree either. But with that in mind, Groot does have a lot of hidden nuance.

And unfortunately for him, nuance isn't something that Sagittarius is particularly skilled with. Sag can get analytical and pay attention to details when they try, but in their minds, getting to know Groot is too much work with too little payoff.

Will Relate To: Erik Killmonger

It would be too easy to say that any zodiac sign relates best to the heroes and doesn't understand the villains, because in many instances that's not true. And when it comes to Marvel villains, Sagittarians will have an easy time understanding Erik Killmonger's motivations.

Sagittarius has an extreme sense of justice and fairness, and they can get pretty aggressive when they feel that those boundaries have been crossed, just like Erik.

Won't Understand: Red Skull

Red Skull from Captain America

One villain that Sagittarius absolutely can't relate to is Red Skull. Hopefully most zodiac signs don't feel kindred to Nazis, but Red Skull's mission and behavior is particularly unappealing to someone like Sag.

Sagittarius craves freedom in all it's forms, and they can't stand to be controlled. So given that Red Skull is the founder of a villainous group hellbent on world domination, it's safe to say that Sagittarius can't relate.

Will Relate To: Phil Coulson

Agents of SHIELD Coulson LMD

Agent Coulson might just be a regular guy, but his overall outlook on life and his mission with S.H.I.E.L.D. is something that will naturally appeal to any archer.

Coulson began his journey with S.H.I.E.L.D. as someone who was on the one hand a man who felt compelled to do the right thing, and on the other was a fanboy of the world's real life heroes. That kind of enthusiasm and innocent excitement is very Sagittarian.

Won't Understand: Thanos

Thanos is really the ultimate villain of the Marvel universe (or at the very least of the MCU so far), and his whole outlook on that universe and his place in it is something that will instantly clash with the Sagittarian style.

Destroying the entire universe in order to save it and "bring balance" sounds insane to anyone, but especially to Sag.

Will Relate To: Star-Lord

Star-Lord in the MCU

One of the few heroes of Marvel that truly embodies what the Sagittarian version of a superhero would be is obviously Star-Lord. Although Sagittarians can absolutely be rascals, they are ultimately good people who will do the right thing when push comes to shove.

And while Sags can actually be pretty badass, they generally like to keep even the darkest things a bit lighter with some much needed levity.

Won't Understand: Hela

Hela is probably the most intimidating Marvel villain straight out of the gate, even if her aims aren't quite as lofty as say, Thanos.

And while Sags can be ambitious, they're not particularly bloodthirsty, and to be honest Hela is just to grim and intimidating to ever be relatable to a Sagittarius. Sags also aren't particularly genocidal, and while they can be vengeful and temperamental, they can't hold on to anger for as long as Hela can.

Will Relate To: Spider-Man

Sagittarians are a zodiac sign who never lose their childlike sense of innocence and wonder, no matter how many frightening or dangerous things they might encounter. And to be honest, most Sags don't immediately come off as intimidating or badass, even though they might be underneath.

So in that sense, the most relatable Marvel character for Sags has got to be Peter Parker, also known as Spider-Man.

Won't Understand: Black Widow

Stealthy. Dangerous. Cold. Methodical. Duplicitous. Chameleonic. These are all words that can easily describe Black Widow, and they are all words that pretty much never describe any Sagittarius.

Sags might imagine being someone like Black Widow in their wildest fantasies, but to be honest, her whole vibe is too low key and harsh for the happy go lucky Sagittarius to ever really enjoy or relate to.
