These 10 Marvel Comics characters are more powerful that the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Captain Marvel. Marvel Studios finally released their first female led movie a few weeks ago, and Captain Marvel is quickly dominating the box office. The Brie Larson-led Carol Danvers solo movie established a possible new face for the MCU with this popularity, but also thanks to her incredible power set.

In just one movie, Captain Marvel has shown why she's been touted as the most powerful character the MCU has ever seen. Once she was able to unlock her full powers and learn to control them, Carol flew through space and dismantled a Kree invasion of Earth all on her own. This has made many excited to see her take on Thanos in Avengers: Endgame in a few weeks, which will be her biggest test as a hero. The Avengers will need all of her strength to take down the Mad Titan, but she isn't even as powerful as many comic characters.

In the latest Screen Rant video, we take a look at 10 Marvel characters that are actually even more powerful that the MCU version of Captain Marvel. The list even includes the comic version of Carol Danvers, as she's shown several abilities in the comics that haven't yet been translated to the big screen. This could change in the future and as Larson's take on the character evolves, but check out the full video (featured at the top of this post) to get the full list of characters more powerful than her as of right now.

While these characters in the comics may be more powerful than Captain Marvel, there are several already introduced in the MCU who are nearly on equal terms. Thor (Chris Hemsworth) has long been one of the more powerful MCU characters, and his understanding that he holds the power (and the addition of Stormbreaker) has only increased what he can do. Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) are two of the other most powerful MCU characters thanks to their vast abilities, and we should eventually get to see Carol fighting alongside them.

But, this list also includes several characters who haven't yet been introduced in the MCU, which just goes to show that the shared universe can still increase the power of its heroes. Cosmic characters like Quasar and Adam Warlock have both been teased by director James Gunn as possible additions to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Now that the Disney-Fox deal is completed, Marvel Studios will also have the ability to bring the likes of Jean Grey, Silver Surfer, and Gladiator to the big screen with all of their might. Once these characters are introduced, hopefully Captain Marvel gets to meet them so we can see how their power sets size up to each other on the big screen.
