To honor the passing of Black Panther actor Chadwick Boseman, the digital comic service comiXology has made nearly every Black Panther comic free on their website. Fans read that right: over 200 issues of Wakanda comic content at absolutely no charge.

The Amazon-owned comiXology service boasts a collection of over 75,000 comics, manga, and graphic novels available to digitally purchase. Users can also pay a subscription fee that allows them to access comiXology’s entire library, but for now anyone and everyone can purchase and read Black Panther comics without paying a cent. While this sale comes as something of a surprise--in that it was completely unannounced and unadvertised--it is just one more way the superhero community is paying tribute to Chadwick Boseman, the actor who made King T’Challa a blockbuster icon in the MCU’s Black Panther, who recently passed away after a four-year battle with colon cancer. Boseman may be gone, but his legacy lives on through the character that he so graciously brought to life. A legacy countless people will now be able to explore more than they ever thought possible.

Some notable series included in this sale are Jim Zub’s Black Panther and the Agents of Wakanda, Ta-Nehisi Coates’s Black Panther run, and 1988's Black Panther mini-series by Peter Gillis. There’s also the Rise of the Black Panther series by Evan Narcisse, which provides glimpses into lives of the Black Panthers who preceded T’Challa, such as his father, King T’Chaka. In addition, stories focused on Wakandan characters other than T’Challa, such as Nnedi Okorafor’s Shuri series, are also available for free.

However, there are also a few significant absences from comiXology’s sale. Don McGregor and Billy Graham’s Black Panther: Panther’s Prey mini-series is not available on the site. Additionally, some Black Panther issues cross over with other Marvel Comics events and series that aren’t a part of the sale, so fans may need to eventually put up the purchase price to continue these stories into other books. Regardless, there are plenty of complete, free Black Panther stories to choose from.

It’s unclear exactly how long this tribute will last, as comiXology has yet to make any official statements regarding the sale. However, it’s safe to assume it won’t last forever, so interested readers will want to head to comiXology's Black Panther comics sooner rather than later.
