Warning: SPOILERS for Avengers Forever #10After encountering an infinite number of Tony Starks, Iron Man finally commits his most heroic act in years: creating Tony Starks Anonymous, a support group dedicated to people (exactly) like him. The Armored Avenger is known for his many suits of armor and futuristic inventions, but also his many flaws. Avengers Forever #10 depicts a Tony Stark who finally comes face-to-face with those flaws in the most direct way possible, and becomes the hero beyond all other Iron Men.

In the Avengers Forever series, the multiverse is menaced by the Black Skull and his Multiversal Masters of Evil. To combat the threat, Tony Stark - the Ant-Man - partners with a Deathlok and the Ghost Rider to assemble a multiversal army of his own: he gathers a Thor with the powers of the Iron Fist, a Black Panther with powers resembling Spider-Man and Star-Lord, an army of Captain Americas and the Captain Marvel Armada (a group of Carol Danvers variants with their own Helicarrier). All that remains is a Tony Stark variant - but significant problems arise when the Starks prove difficult to recruit.

In Avengers Forever #10, by Jason Aaron, Jim Towe & Guru-eFX, Tony Stark journeys throughout the multiverse to track down an Iron Man variant, but continually runs into trouble. The first Iron Man he meets dies in an explosion after a drunken flight through a small town; still others use the suits as bartenders, were burned as witches, implanted their minds into planet-sized bodies, and suffered incredible pain. After seeing one too many Tony Starks die, the Ant-Man variant of Stark resolves to help others and makes an unofficial Tony Starks Anonymous group. One of the first members is a Stark who refused to leave his cave, not coming out until he had achieved a "perfect" suit.

Only Tony Stark Can Help Tony Stark

Iron Man creates the Tony Stark Support Group

In many ways, this is a Tony Stark who found his true calling: not fixing things, but people. In another sense, Tony's paranoia is paramount here when one realizes that the only person Tony trusts is himself. Even though the Avengers Forever variant has a different life experience than the other Iron Men, he's still a wealthy genius with substance abuse issues and a copious amount of insecurities. Whatever the case at least he's helping others like him in a way that no other person could; Tony understands his own mind quite well.

It must be noted that the Marvel 616 version of Iron Man is not present during this Avengers Forever crossover, or at least not seen. While there are multiverse-ending consequences if the Avengers don't gather their forces, the "main" version of Tony Stark is nowhere to be found. He could certainly use the Tony Starks Anonymous support group, however; no Iron Man is without flaws.
