Warning! Spoilers for Heroes Reborn #7 by Marvel Comics below!

Marvel's Batman v. Superman moment also happens to be their own Civil War in the Heroes Reborn universe. In a new preview for Heroes Reborn #7, Hyperion and Nighthawk's greatest battle is revealed in a world without the Avengers, where the two heroes spar over the Superhero Registration Act. The leaders of the Squadron Supreme not only fought over the new law but battled over the affection of their fellow member, Power Princess.

The Heroes Reborn event is nearing its conclusion, as readers learn more about Hyperion and Nighthawk's past. The two characters - who were based on Superman and Batman in the DC Universe - are the faces of the Squadron Supreme and have protected Earth despite not always seeing eye-to-eye. Unlike Superman, Hyperion isn't afraid to kill to get the job done, as he's done with the Hulk and Galactus. Meanwhile, Nighthawk is much more reserved and brooding like his DC counterpart. He's seen the loss of his sidekick Falcon and watched Gwen Stacy effectively become Batgirl before his eyes. Now, the pair's biggest conflict is coming to the forefront of the Marvel Universe.

In a preview for Heroes Reborn #7 by Jason Aaron, Aaron Kuder, Dean White, and VC's Corey Petit, the story flashes back a few years as Batman and Nighthawk are engaged in a deadly slugfest that's not unlike Batman v. Superman. The reason for the conflict is Nighthawk's help to introduce the Superhero Registration Act, which is intended to limit the power of the Squadron Supreme. Marvel's Superman and Batman also fight over Zarda's love. Nighthawk is corrupted by the alien symbiote and has stolen the Eye of Agamotto so he could fight back against Hyperion.

The preview ends with Hyperion grabbing Nighthawk and flying him into space, intending to throw his teammate into the sun. He tells his opponent that in a Civil War, "both sides bleed" no matter who wins the fight. The comic then returns to the present day, where Power Princess is telling Hyperion and Nighthawk to put aside their differences now that the Avengers have emerged in their timeline.

The Heroes Reborn event is clearly building up to the final battle between the Squadron Supreme and the Avengers, where the forgotten heroes will fight to restore their reality against the Earth's Mightiest Heroes who shouldn't be. Marvel's Superman and Batman will need to stop their feud - which is quite notable given their Batman v. Superman-like fight and Civil War disagreement - and work together to keep their current reality alive. Heroes Reborn #7 is in stores on Wednesday.
