Warning! Spoilers for Marvel's Avengers #46 below!

She-Hulk is getting her own World War Hulk treatment in the upcoming adventures of Marvel's Avengers. In a brand-new solicit for a future arc of the series, World War She-Hulk is about to unfold. Jennifer Walters will be declared a "global menace" which will lead She-Hulk to be hunted by the Russian heroes known as the Winter Guard, who want to bring the hero to justice and ultimately, face a dark fate for her actions.

Marvel's World War Hulk was one of the publisher's best events. The series followed Planet Hulk, which saw the Illuminati send the Jade Giant into space, exiling him for being too dangerous. However,  Hulk's spacecraft accidentally gets sucked into a wormhole, which brings him to the planet Sakaar. It's there, he becomes a gladiator and eventually the ruler of the planet. But, after the planet (and wife) is destroyed by his own spacecraft engine exploding, Hulk returns to Earth with a vengeance. In World War Hulk, the Hulk gets revenge on those who sent him away. The original Planet Hulk served as inspiration for the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Thor: Ragnarok.

Marvel's Avengers #46 by Jason Aaron and Javier Garron will focus on She-Hulk becoming a wanted criminal following the events of the most recent "Enter the Phoenix," arc. It's unclear what incident makes She-Hulk a global target, but Russia's Winter Guard - essentially the Russian Avengers, led by the Red Guardian, Crimson Dynamo, Ursa Major, and Red Widow - will be tasked with capturing her and bringing her to justice. The cover for issue #46 shows the Winter Guard watching over She-Hulk, as she's chained to the ground with powerful constraints.

  • After the shocking events of “Enter the Phoenix,” the Earth has become more fractured and volatile than ever, especially for the Avengers. Once She-Hulk is declared a global menace, Russia’s mightiest heroes, the Winter Guard, are tasked with bringing Jen to justice and face a fate no Hulk could hope to endure.

Whatever She-Hulk was alleged to have done, it clearly has upset Russia and its heroes. Perhaps, like her cousin, she lost control and inadvertently caused damage and destruction? Will the first issue of the arc end with the Avengers shooting also her into space? It's doubtful, as they probably learned their lesson after Hulk returned in World War Hulk.

While there are still more details to be revealed, it seems World War She-Hulk will be a completely different story from the arc which inspired it. World War Hulk was about Hulk's revenge on those who lost trust and betrayed him. It's unclear whether her Avenger's teammates will be on her side or are among those trying to track her down. World War She-Hulk begins when Avengers #46 comes to comic shops and is available online on July 7, 2021.
