The Avengers are made up of a dynamic cast of wonderfully diverse characters. From that, there have been plenty of humorous moments in the franchise, and those moments have gotten even more spotlight through the creation of memes depicting those scenes.

Audiences have had several laughs watching the franchise; memes only provide further humor that makes those funny moments even funnier. Memes are ironic, creative, and definitely point out things audiences hadn't noticed before, so it's no wonder why they're so popular, or funny.

The Glory Hound

With all his technology and know-how, Tony Stark created a fleet of weapons to help defend the Earth. And yet, he pretty much reserves them for himself. It's no secret that Tony Stark loves being recognized for his smarts and talents and that he enjoys being regarded as a hero. No one else outed their secret identity in the way Tony Stark did, after all.

Stark is undoubtedly protective of his equipment, not wanting anyone else to damage his suits, but he's also a bit of a glory hound, which makes the meme so funny.

Defending Shawarma

This meme is brilliant; it combines two Avengers moments into one. The meme references shawarma, which is what Tony Stark wanted to eat in 2012's The Avengers, and which he did eat with his fellow heroes in the end credits.

The picture itself is from Infinity War as Doctor Strange, Tony Stark and Bruce Banner prepare to defend Earth from Thanos' henchmen. The blend of the two iconic things from the Avengers franchise is sidesplitting for obvious reasons.

Two Different Reactions

Audiences had no idea what was to come with the release of Avengers: Endgame. Excitement, anticipation, and impatience were certainly at the forefront of their emotions, as they debated and hypothesized what would happen and how everything would all come together. Turns out, even if audiences thought they were ready for the trailer, they really weren't.

Audiences felt the losses of some of the core members of the Avengers just as deeply as the Avengers themselves did. What's so perfect about this meme is the fact that Thor was featured as the depiction of how audiences felt---and honestly, the meme hits the nail right on the head.

Thanks For Saving The Universe

Remember that frustrating moment in Infinity War when Star-Lord royally screwed up the plan to remove the gauntlet from Thanos? Granted, he was grieving the loss of Gamora, but his loss of control doomed the universe in a big way. He virtually allowed it to happen, and audiences definitely held that against him.

Knowing now that the universe was eventually righted in Endgame (apart from a couple of major losses in the process), audiences can look back and see the humor in this meme, as it thanks everyone who did contribute, and pretty much writes off the one person who may never live down his mistake.

Language!

The meme is funny because it features three different heroes focusing on one common subject: language. Captain America definitely doesn't stand for foul language, Drax the Destroyer is oblivious to what "watch your language" actually means, and Deadpool has his own take on it.

These three beloved characters make one meme funny in a simple yet meaningful way.

The Name Game

This meme does a wonderful job of including a mash-up of the Avengers, referencing one another by their real or fictional names. It's fun with names, and actually informative if audiences didn't already know.

The meme also creates something of an argument/moment of confusion among the actors in the meme, making it that much more comical.

That Moment When...

Black Widow was impressive by all means. She was intelligent and could kick some serious butt without requiring the kind of weapons several of the Avengers used, like the Iron Man suit or Mjolnir.

The uproarious part of this meme is the look on Black Widow's face, which perfectly suits the feeling of being the only one without armor, as the meme points out. She looks a little jealous, but also daring, as though she's ready to prove just how awesome she is without armor---which she did repeatedly throughout the franchise.

Feeling The Power

Minecraft provides plenty of opportunities for creativity, and with that creativity, comes a certain amount of power, and the powerful feeling to go with it. Players alter reality to what they want it to be, and that's what makes this meme so humorous: that kind of power can certainly be akin to what Thanos felt when he had the gauntlet and all the stones.

Granted, Thanos used that power quite differently, but in this particular meme, it's not about the devastation he caused; it's just about relating to that feeling of power.

Low-Key Humor

This is totally something Loki would say just to spite Director Fury and his own father. While the two men are quite powerful and rulers in their own respective ways, Loki is powerful in his own way.

He's not quite as skilled as Fury or his father, and he fails more often than not. The meme is hysterical because it's easy to imagine Loki getting caught, and saying the above quote to spite Fury and his father in a manner similar to childish retaliation.

The Unexpected Hero

Captain Marvel is certainly an impressive character, with unusual powers. It's understandable why audiences would assume she'd be the one to save the universe from Thanos. However, it turns out to be Scott Lang, a.k.a Antman, who comes up with the idea that gets the ball rolling and ultimately undoes the damage Thanos caused.

Sure, he's an unlikely hero, but that's a good thing; Antman was never really taken seriously as a hero until he came up with the groundbreaking idea to save everyone, and after all was said and done, Antman had definitely proved himself as an Avenger. Plus, the particular image choices in this meme make the realization of the true hero hysterical in its own right.
