Some of the Avengers' youngest members are assembling with the X-Men in a new graphic novel from Marvel. This crossover story takes Spider-Man, Squirrel Girl, and Ms. Marvel and turns them into exchange students at Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters and the youthful trio is about to find themselves star-struck as they're taught by some of the most popular heroes in Marvel's universe.

Marvel's Avengers Assembly is a series of graphic novels for young readers. The first book, Orientation, began with Kamala Khan's enrollment at the Avengers Institute - an Avengers version of Charles Xavier's school. The second installment, The Sinister Substitute, pit Marvel’s fledgling heroic trio against new teachers who seemed like villains impersonating heroes. Now, a third book has been revealed.

Marvel has announced Marvel's Avengers Assembly: X-Change Students 101 - the latest book in the series. The latest entry is written by Preeti Chhibber and illustrated by James Lancett. This new graphic novel from Scholastic will take three of Marvel's youngest Avengers and send them over to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. Check out the cover, a preview, and the synopsis here:

After training with the Avengers, Kamala Khan (Ms. Marvel), Doreen Green (Squirrel Girl), and Miles Morales (Spider-Man) are ready to branch out and expand their horizons. This semester, that means a trip north to study alongside the X-Men! From Kate Pryde and Wolverine to Beast and Gambit, the most recognizable mutants are all here in this fun-filled newest volume.

The preview pages above reveal another young hero who will be involved in this adventure: Reptil. Humberto Lopez - codename Reptil - is an Avenger who has previously been seen at Avengers Academy, including in the comics of the same title from 2010 to 2013. Ms. Marvel, Spider-Man, and Reptil will be expected to team up separate from Squirrel Girl and undergo a teambuilding survival exercise. A sneak peek into the students' packs reveals that the X-Men have their own snack and MRE (Meals Ready to Eat) food brand - as usual with "X" included labels. The surprising thing here is that the sleeping bags don't also come with an "X" on them, since everything else has the X-Men seal of approval, minus the spork.

This book will continue exploring what it's like for the next generation of superheroes to be trained and taught by their older counterparts and idols. The X-Men have been in the teaching game for a while, though many lessons have come from real world experiences against villains - not simply sitting in a classroom. While young mutants may be used to their teachers and the legacies associated with them, the Avengers Academy students may be meeting these heroes face to face for the first time. Being taught or in the company of Storm, Wolverine, Gambit, Beast, and Kitty Pryde will definitely leave the trio and their classmates star-struck, as the preview already hints at. Fans can check out Marvel's Avengers Assembly: X-Change Students 101 when it releases on January 4, 2022.
