While the MCU has teams like the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy in place as well as X-Men and Fantastic Four on the way, Alpha Flight is one Marvel team fans are still waiting for. The group is made up of Canadian heroes who form a super squad unlike any other.

Like most Marvel teams, Alpha Flight has a long history in the comics and a lot of different members over the years. Some have been huge fan-favorite characters and others have been largely forgotten. But fans on Ranker have highlighted their favorite Alpha Flight members of all time.

Talisman

There are a lot of great magic users in the Marvel universe with the likes of Doctor Strange and Scarlet Witch being the most famous. But Alpha Flight has some magical members of its own with Talisman being one popular one.

She is a Canadian First Nations member of the team and the daughter of fellow Alpha Flight hero Shaman. Similar to Moon Knight, she is seen as an avatar to channel the gods and her powers have the potential to rival Doctor Strange himself. She has the ability to fly, teleport, manipulate matter, and much more.

Aurora

Aurora uses her powers in Marvel Comics.

Along with Talisman and her father, there is another family connection in Alpha Flight. Aurora and her twin brother Northstar are members of the team, but both are unique heroes on their own.

Like her brother, Aurora has the ability to fly as well as project light which can be destructive to enemies or simply calm them down. However, she is also a complex hero in that she struggles with a personality disorder, similar to Marc Spector. It makes her a tormented yet heroic member of the team.

Vindicator

Vindicator was one of the titles held by the first leader of Alpha Flight, James Hudson. However, after his apparent death, his wife Heather Hudson took up the mantle and led the team in his absence using his advanced super suit.

Given that Heather began her time in the comics as a love interest to a superhero, it is great to see that she made a name for herself as a superhero as well. The fact that fans recognize her as one of Alpha Flight's greatest members speaks a lot to how endearing her journey was.

Wolverine

Given that he is best known as one of the most popular X-Men of all time, fans might not be aware that Wolverine was also a member of Alpha Flight at various times. The mutant with the ability to heal quickly and some dangerous adamantium claws is also one of the most iconic Marvel characters ever.

Since he is such a beloved character, it is a bit surprising Wolverine doesn't rank higher among these lesser-known heroes. But perhaps he is not seen by fans as much as a member of Alpha Flight as he spends more time with the X-Men than his fellow Canadians.

Shaman

Shaman of Alpha Flight reads the magical energies of a skull in Marvel Comics.

While Talisman is a powerful magic user, fans seem to be more impressed with her father, Michael Twoyoungmen. He is another hero who shares similarities with Doctor Strange, not only because of his magical abilities but also because he is also one of the world's most talented surgeons.

The most exciting aspect of Shaman's powers is his medicine bah which is actually a pocket dimension. He is able to pull anything he needs from that bag, making it a very handy power.

Snowbird

Snowbird in Marvel's Alpha Flight

Snowbird aka Narya is one of the most powerful and intriguing members of Alpha Flight. Her destiny as a hero was written long before she was born when the Inuit goddess Nelvanna sought to pass her powers to a being who could one day face and defeat the evil spirit Tundra.

Snowbird is unique among the Alpha Flight heroes in that her powers prevent her from ever leaving Canada or else she could die. Some of her abilities include being able to transform into any animal that is native to Canada.

Northstar

Northstar of Marvel's X-Men

Apart from Wolverine, Northstar is likely the Alpha Flight member who has made the biggest impact outside of the team itself. This includes his time as a member of the X-Men.

As the twin brother of Aurora, he shares the same powers as her which can be increased when the siblings are in contact with each other. But certainly the biggest aspect of Northstar's legacy is that he was the first openly gay hero in Marvel comics. He became a ground-breaking character and one that still means a lot to many fans.

Puck

Despite his size, Eugene Judd aka Puck is not someone who should be underestimated. The small mutant has had a long career as an adventurer before joining Alpha Flight. Though he is just over three feet tall, he still possesses superhuman strength and packs a powerful punch.

It is not hard to see why he is a favorite among fans as he is often the comic relief character of the team. His high energy and big personality make him a lot of fun to follow on these adventures.

Guardian

Though James Hudson is also known as Vindicator, his more famous superhero codename is Guardian. Hudson serves as the leader of the first iteration of Alpha Flight and has remained in a prominent role long after.

He is sort of like a Canadian version of Captain America and even wears a similar uniform with a Canadian flag. Also like Cap, he is a noble and heroic leader of his fellow superheroes, and despite being a government agent, is willing to push back against those in charge if he thinks they are wrong.

Sasquatch

It seems that every superhero team needs one monstrous member who serves as the muscle. The Avengers have Hulk, the Guardians of the Galaxy have Groot, and Alpha Flight has Sasquatch. Sasquatch was initially Dr. Walter Langkowski, a brilliant Canadian physicist.

Similar to Bruce Banner, Langkowski experimented with gamma radiation which resulted in him transforming into a super powerful beast that resembles the legendary Sasquatch monster. With his super intelligence and his super-strength, Sasquatch is a formidable hero.
