Several Marvel Cinematic Universe actors will be joining the DC Universe, confirms DC Studios boss James Gunn. As of this year, Gunn has completed his journey with Marvel Studios with the release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which marks the end of his trilogy. With his MCU adventures over, Gunn will now be fully focused on building the new DC Universe together with Peter Safran. One of the big projects that Gunn will be spearheading is Superman: Legacy, which he wrote and is set to direct.Like many filmmakers, Gunn is known for working with many of the same actors on various projects. Following Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3.'s release, Gunn hosted a Q&A on Twitter, and one of the questions he responded to was whether or not any Guardians of the Galaxy cast members would be in Superman: Legacy, to which he said, "Yes."

Even before landing the gig as co-CEO for DC Studios, Gunn had already cast several Guardians of the Galaxy actors in The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker. Once Gunn was tapped for his new role at DC Studios, he made it clear that he would be bringing more actors from the MCU over to the DC Universe that he had previously worked with before.

When Will Superman: Legacy Casting Likely Be Revealed?

With Superman: Legacy being Gunn's next big project, the filmmaker has confirmed that casting is underway as they are aiming to get filming started by 2024. Despite the ongoing Writers Guild of America strike, Superman: Legacy will not be one of the productions to get affected as Gunn had already finished the script before May. The bigger question that remains now is when there will actually be casting news for Superman: Legacy.

One of the big events where major Hollywood studios unveil significant casting news is San Diego Comic-Con, which will take place from July 20 - 23 this summer. While Warner Bros. Discovery and DC Studios have yet to announce any Hall H plans, it feels like a safe bet that Gunn will be there this year for the DC Universe. If they manage to tap their new Man of Steel, it is very likely that they may be preparing for a massive Hall H unveiling of the next Superman and potentially other characters in Superman Legacy.

Following the strong reception for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3., it will be exciting to see Gunn's deeper work with the DC Universe as he and Safran build out their new interconnected franchise. What will be more intriguing to see is which actors Gunn brings over from the MCU to his DC projects, as he has worked with some tremendous talents in those films over the last few years. Hopefully, it won't be long until some of those Guardians of the Galaxy cast members gets their roles revealed in the DC Universe, including Superman: Legacy.
