BET+ reveals the premiere date for its upcoming special, Martin: The Reunion. The Fox sitcom Martin originally premiered in 1992, and ran for 5 seasons. The series follows Martin Payne (played by Martin Lawrence, the show's creator), a Detroit DJ for WZUP radio, and his girlfriend Gina (played by Tisha Campbell). Martin's best friend, Cole Brown (played by Carl Anthony Payne II), and Gina's coworker, Pam James (played by Tichina Arnold), were also series regulars.

Variety reports that Martin: The Reunion will air on BET+ on June 16. The special episode will be hosted by Affion Crockett and take place on the familiar Martin living room set and see Lawrence, Campbell, Payne II, and Arnold reminiscing over the show's five seasons. There will also be musical performances in the reunion along with cameos from celebrity fans of the show. A description from BET+ can be read below:

The cast will look back on the show’s most hilarious moments, revisit the iconic characters Martin made famous and pay an emotional tribute to the late, great Tommy Ford.

Reunion shows always have the potential to be boring if the cast doesn't have interesting commentary to add, or don't share as much chemistry off-screen as they do on-screen. However, with comedian Lawrence in attendance, and the addition of new content, such as the musical performances promised, the Martin reunion may buck the trend of reunion shows lacking substance. For those looking to relive some of the cast's favorite moments from the nostalgic 90s series, they can tune in to Martin: The Reunion on BET+ on June 16.
