One of the strangest pairings that any of us have seen in recent memory is the one between Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg. At face value, these two could not be more different. Stewart made a career out of being a straight laced cook, while Snoop made a career out of rapping about the blunts that he laced.

They aren't even all that similar, as their similarities begin and end with the fact that both of them have spent some time in jail. In fact, it is the pair's stark contrast that the world has fallen in love with.

Starting with their appearances on Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber, many fans have noticed that having the two vastly different personalities bouncing off of each other results in comedy gold. VH1 certainly noticed this, as they used the opportunity to give both Stewart and Snoop their own cooking show, Martha & Snoop's Potluck Dinner, where their chemistry is as strong as ever.

While the network could not be happier with the success that the show has gained over the last two seasons, there are some behind the scenes secrets that many fans may not know about, some of which the network hopes to keep buried and hidden from fans.

Here are the 15 Behind-The-Scenes Secrets About Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party.

15. Martha Caused A Lot Of Controversy When She Said The N-Word On Camera

In today's socially charged environment, if there is one thing that we can expect the public to flip out about, it's seeing a white person say the dreaded "N-word" on television. In this particular case, the scene was never aired, but fans did freak out when news broke out that Martha Stewart said the "N-word" during a taping of one of the episodes of Martha & Snoop's Potluck Dinner.

While talking to Lil Yachty about his latest album called Teenage Emotions, it was revealed that VH1 hadn't yet receieved approval to feature the album cover, which halted production on the episode.

The setback inspired Snoop to cuss out the production team and refer to the debacle as "n*gga sh*t." This, in turn, inspired Stewart to ask Yachty "Does it upset you when Snoop says 'n*gga sh*t'?" While Yachty couldn't help but grin, everyone else in the room flipped out.

14. Snoop Adds "Herbs" When Martha Isn't Looking

With Snoop Dogg being a connoisseur of the devil's lettuce, he sometimes can't help but add a little of the herb to the meals that the two are preparing when Martha Stewart isn't looking in between episodes.

Snoop admitted in an interview with the Los Angeles Times that he has some special "herbs and spices" that he likes to add to the meals when Stewart is preoccupied.

Stewart does not allow any smoking on the set unless the smoking is coming from the oven or from a pot on the stove, so the best shot that Snoop Dogg has at getting high on the show is by sneaking some of his substances to the food.

Some fans wonder whether Stewart has tested the food afterwards and wondered why she suddenly has the munchies.

13. Martha Always Adds Alcohol To Her Clambake

For anyone who may take issue with Snoop Dogg adding some of his special "herb spice" to the food, it's important to keep in mind that Martha Stewart has a secret concoction of her own that she secretly adds to the food and is unknown to many fans.

Stewart adds alcohol to her clambake-- specifically vodka, which she has added to every clambake she has ever made. The reason behind this is that she doesn't "like to cook anything alive without giving them a drink."

This makes sense to some fans, as she could very well be giving these crabs some liquid courage before putting them through some double bubble trouble-- trouble being ensuing death, of course. When Snoop once expressed his guilt for cooking live lobsters, she told him "Don't feel bad! They've got their vodka!"

12. Martha Got A Second Hand High From Snoop

While Martha Stewart doesn't and never indulges in the devil's lettuce, she technically did get high with Snoop Dogg once before-- albeit in the second hand sense.

She revealed in an interview on Late Night with Seth Meyers that, while she was sitting next to Snoop Dogg during Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber, Snoop was puffing away beside her during the entire event.

It is important to keep in mind that they were filming the event for four hours straight, so that's a lot of smoking. Eventually, there was too much smoke for Stewart to handle and she managed to get second hand high.

"Secondary smoke is just as strong as primary smoke," Stewart explained to Meyers during the interview, "so I was totally high by time I got up to that microphone."

11. Martha Isn't As Innocent As She Lets On And Has Done Some Crazy Things

One thing that many of her fans tend to forget is that above all else is that Martha Stewart is a grown woman. This means that she has, in fact, been around the block a few times and has decades worth of experience under her belt-- not all of it good.

Much of that experience happens to be of the intimate connotation. While many fans may think that something like intimate texting, for example, would be foreign to someone like Stewart, it turns out that she's actually a pro at it.

During an interview on Ellen with Snoop Dogg and Anna Kendrick, they played a game of Never Have I Ever. During the game, Stewart revealed that she has sent intimate text messages before. She's also even been to a racey beach.

While everyone in attendance watched on with shocked, their mouths draped open, Snoop Dogg just giggled and was not surprised in the very least that his co-star gets her freak on from time to time.

10. Despite being a professional chef, Martha Occasionally Burns Food

Between Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart, the latter is the only one who is a professional cook... and yet it is Stewart is also the one who occasionally burns the food. Stewart admitted in an interview once that she is so confident in her own cooking that she will sometimes leave the food that she is cooking unattended as she does something else.

In these cases, she might leave the food unattended while she walks around her home, does some cleaning, or even reads a book. However, she may be a bit too confident since she will occasionally return to the food and discover that it is a little overdone.

Stewart even returned to her kitchen a handful of times only to find that her food had been burned to a crisp. Meanwhile, Snoop Dogg never leaves the stove when he is cooking. He is always stirring and checking the pot, making sure that the food will not overcook. Perhaps the professional could learn a thing or two about cooking from Snoop.

9. Snoop is Always Inebriated On The Show

From the very start of Snoop Dogg's musical career, Snoop professed his love for the devil's lettuce in his music and in interviews. He does the same to this day. It is a rarity to find Snoop Dogg sober, and he makes no exceptions while working on the set of his show with Martha Stewart.

Stewart even told The Washington Post that Snoop always shows up to the set high as a kite. She also made sure to note that, despite always being high, he's never "incompetent or incoherent at all." In fact, he does his job extremely well.

Snoop is also often buzzed on the set since he is always sampling the cocktails that he and Stewart make at the start of each show. Snoop has stated that the drinks help make him become more relaxed during filming.

8. Martha Constantly Makes Inappropriate Jokes

Celebrity Lies

For years, Martha Stewart maintained an image of being a straight laced and conservative maternal figure. However, it turns out that this could not be furthest from the truth.

Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber already gave us a glimpse at what a more brash version of Stewart looks like behind the scenes, and as it turns out, she is even more vulgar when the cameras are not rolling.

Snoop Dogg once revealed in an interview that Stewart regularly partakes in spewing inappropriate jokes behind the scenes of their show. Most people believe that her jokes are hilarious, though this is mostly due to the fact that they are always caught off guard since it comes as a shock that Stewart has such a crude sense of humor.

It would appear that Stewart is far from the innocent person that her original cooking show implied that she was.

7. Martha Got Snoop Tipsy On Set

It has been well documented that Snoop Dogg enjoys the devil's lettuce, and in sharp contrast, Martha Stewart does not smoke at all. While Snoop has never forced Stewart to try the substance, Stewart is a bit more fond of her vices and has insists that everyone who works on the show must have a drink before each and every episode.

While Snoop typically doesn't drink, he also never says no to Martha Stewart when he hands him a glass. This has resulted in Snoop Dogg getting just a bit too tipsy while filming the show.

Stewart assured the public in an interview that she had no idea that Snoop Dogg did not drink. However, Snoop in turn, admitted that he could never say no to Martha Stewart-- even when it comes to alcohol.

6. Martha And Snoop Have Made "Green" Brownies Together

When a cook works in a kitchen with someone who enjoys the devil's lettuce, there will eventually be a moment where the two decide to make "green" brownies. Of course, when we say "green," we are not talking about the color of the brownies-- although Stewart and Snoop have also made some brownies that were literally the color green.

In this case, though, we are referring to Snoop Dogg's favorite special ingredient. Of course, they made these special brownies off screen, since baking such brownies on screen is no doubt illegal.

Since Stewart and Snoop frequently hang out together off screen, they have had more than enough time to concoct some special brownies together off set. Stewart never admitted to trying one out for herself, but she has certainly helped Snoop Dogg bake some of these brownies.

5. Martha Is Close To Snoop, But Not So Close To Donald Trump

Martha Stewart's co-star Snoop Dogg spent much of 2017 in a bitter feud with Donald Trump. This feud saw the two exchange heated words against each other on Twitter.

Things escalated when Snoop released a music video that included him shooting a clown dressed up as Donald Trump. Adding fuel to the fire in an attempt to side with her bestie, Martha Stewart posted an Instagram post of herself standing beside a portrait of Donald Trump and a portrait of Snoop Dogg. She discovered these images at an art show that she decided to crash.

Making a huge political statement, she flicked up a peace sign to the portrait of Snoop and a middle finger to Donald Trump. It did not take long before the picture went viral, and within a matter of months, it has managed to accumulate thousands of likes on Instagram.

4. Martha's Relationship with Her Daughter Is A Bit Rocky

Considering how wholesome and kindhearted she seems to be on the screen, Martha Stewart seems like a pretty swell person to have for a mother. However, her daughter Alexis may beg to differ.

Alexis released a book in 2011 titled Whateverland: Learning to Live Here, where she gave readers a glimpse into what it was like to be raised by Martha Stewart. According to the book, it wasn't exactly flowers and rainbows.

Apparently, Stewart is just as much of a perfectionist behind the scenes in her own household as she appearsto be on TV in her kitchen. Alexis once said that "if I didn't do something perfectly, I had to do it again. I grew up with a glue gun pointed at my head."

Stewart refused to celebrate holidays like Halloween when Alexis was growing up, and neglected to keep prepared food in the house. However, despite her difficult upbringing, Alexis carries no hard feelings towards her mom and even dedicated the book to her.

3. Martha and Snoop bonded on the set of Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber

In 2015, when folks tuned into Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber to see several celebrities attack the pop sensation, the highlight for many viewers was seeing the chemistry between Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart.

Despite the odd pairing, the two bounced comedic quips off of each other constantly and had such a fun times that fans instantly wanted to see more of the two together.

In fact, the two fit together so well and created so many laughs that they caught the attention of VH1, which subsequently contacted both Stewart and Snoop Dogg to see if they would be interested in doing a show together.

Since both Stewart and Snoop were fans of each other already, they didn't hesitate to accept the titillating offer and thus Martha Steward & Snoop Dogg's Potluck Dinner was made.

2. Martha Has An Ongoing Feud with Gwyneth Paltrow

Martha Stewart has had an ongoing feud with Gwyneth Paltrow for a few years. While their professions could not be more different, the two started their feud in 2013 over Paltrow's lifestyle website, Goop.

When asked to comment on it, Stewart pointed out that she herself "started this whole category of lifestyle," saying this as though Paltrow owed her new business career to Stewart.

She then featured a recipe in her own magazine for "Conscious Coupling," taking a jab at Paltrow's recent divorce. Paltrow would respond by featuring a special recipe on her site called "Jailbird Cake," referencing Stewart's stint in jail.

Then, in late 2017 when Paltrow was under investigation for her site allegedly featuring "deceptive" health claims, it was rumored that Stewart was glad that this was happening. When asked to comment, Stewart stated "Who's Goop?"

1. Martha Invited Snoop Over For Brownies So That They Could Become Closer

While a lot of people seem to get the impression that Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg met for the very first time while at Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber, the two actually met long beforehand.

It all started when Snoop guest starred in a 2008 episode of Stewart's cooking show. They were so fond of each other that she brought him on again for another episode.

Years later, in 2014, Stewart admitted in a Reddit AMA that she wished that she was closer friends with Snoop Dogg, going as far as to invite him over for brownies.

While Snoop never did go over for brownies, they did reconnect a year later when they both appeared on The Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber. From there, VH1 asked if they were interested in doing a project together, and the rest, as they say, is history.
