Chris Williams II will marry Paige Banks on season 12 of Married at First Sight. But some of his problematic comments have fans wondering if he is truly husband material.

Twenty-seven-year-old Chris went from living in his car to earning a six-figure salary as a finance manager. He also comes from an extremely religious family and was an ordained minister. According to an interview with VoyageATL, Chris is also the youngest Black Subway franchise owner in Atlanta. Because of his well-paying job, Chris told experts he has over thirty pairs of shoes and eats take-out for every meal.

Although Chris is a successful businessman, he has expressed some problematic opinions on the show that have concerned fans. When asked to describe his ideal wife, Chris told the Married at First Sight experts that he wants a woman who is "intelligent, submissive, sexy, good in bed, and a freak." He also told the experts several times he is concerned women are only after him for his money. “Life without those things would be a sad Christopher with blue balls,” he said. In a conversation about children, Chris said, "Your name is your brand, your last name is your business... If you have kids, your job is to train them to replicate yourself.” These comments seem to show Chris would view his wife and children as his property and he believes his wife is primarily there to please him sexually.

Chris also revealed he was previously engaged twice. His most recent relationship only ended three months prior to filming the show because the couple "didn't have mutual trust." When the other season 12 grooms learned that Chris's relationship ended so recently, they were skeptical of his true motivations for going on the show and questioned his ability to be able to commit to a marriage so soon after his breakup. Co-stars Jacob and Erik also found it immature that Chris brought a blow-up sex doll to their bachelor party.

Despite these red flags, the experts seem convinced Chris and Paige have the right qualities for a lasting relationship. Although Pastor Calvin Roberson was concerned that Chris's "persnickety" and picky attitude would lead to controlling behavior towards his wife, the experts hoped the pair's charismatic personalities and strong faith would bond them for life.
