Noi Phommasak and Steve Moy from Married at First Sight had major potential, but red flags were there from the beginning. Noi jumped the gun by telling Steve that she was falling for him during their honeymoon, and he responded by thanking her. The chemistry and love were there, despite this blunder. However, the two independent thinkers seemed to drift away from each other, and were unable to get back on the same page.

Noi and Steve had the most romantic MAFS season 14 wedding, and immediately seemed to be at ease in each other's company. Then came the honeymoon, with awkward but far more memorable moments, including an intimate waterfall swim complete with a toe bite from a local fish, and cued laughter. Back in the real world, things were a little more complicated.

Steve wasn't sure about picking up Sushi's poop, or Noi's noodle boiling abilities. Noi wasn't sure whether Steve's freelance job status could ease her anxieties, and help her to live the dream of having (and supporting) three children. While Noi and Steve may have said yes on MAFS' Decision Day, they've since called it quits. Now, it's time to look back at all of the "will-they-won't-they" moments, which hinted that their relationship was just too good to be true.

It Was About The Pasta

Noi and Steve's first fight centered on a noodle dispute. Noi agreed to cook dinner for Steve for the first time, which was a big deal. However, she was cooking two sets of noodles. One batch was gluten-free, for herself, while another had gluten (for Steve). Steve noticed that his noodles were boiling over, so he intervened. Noi said, "don't complain," and took the intervention as an offense. She scooped up Sushi and left without saying a word.

Social Media Squabbles

Noi MAFS

After Noi shared vague posts on Instagram, hinting that she wasn't getting what she deserved from the relationship, Steve was hurt. He asked her to bring any issues directly to him. She claimed that all the posts weren't about him, but he pointed out that friends and family would assume that her posts related to their new marriage. When Noi refused to discuss the issue with the other couples, the pair was at an impasse.

An Uncertain Reunion

At the MAFS reunion, Noi and Steve did seem happy, but Noi said she was "still warming up to" taking Steve's last name but did say, "I'm still team Moy." Noi also hadn't let go of her apartment. Steve said it was a non-issue at that point, but it hinted at a lack of commitment.

Suspicious Postnuptial Posting

After the MAFS season 4 finale, Steve's posts hinted that things were rocky. First, on June 17, he posted a photo with Noi. He wrote, "It should come as no surprise at this point that we are trying to navigate the challenges we face in our private relationship" and "We have been choosing not to share some things while we work through and figure things out." Later, he posted happy photos of a family reunion, from which Noi was suspiciously absent. In the post, Steve wrote that he'd been "reflecting on what's happened, and started thinking about what may be next," before realizing that he wanted to be more present.

Steve and Noi's breakup leaves one season 14 couple standing. Married at First Sight fans have become increasingly cynical about the show in recent years, and it's sad to think that Noi and Steve will become another reason for them to doubt the show's experts. On the other hand, Noi and Steve showcased some amazing dance moves, big laughs, real-world negotiation skills, and growth. For that, hopefully, the former couple (and fans) will always be grateful.
