Chris Williams and Paige Banks have been a hot topic of conversation amongst Married At First Sight fans. From the moment Williams opened his mouth it was evident these two would not last. Banks dealt with Williams telling her he is not attracted to her, odd sexual questions at the wedding, and a baby momma. Now it seems that there is definitive evidence that the pair decide to walk away from their shambles of a marriage.

Williams has been painted as the villain of season 12 of Married At First Sight, and for good reason. Instead of highlighting the reasons why he and Banks were matched, like their finance backgrounds, or the fact that they are both realtors, Williams has constantly and consistently shown viewers why they should not be matched. Banks came into the marriage fully believing it was God’s will for her, and despite the multiple red flags presented by Williams including the biggest curveball a couple has ever been thrown in Married At First Sight history -- a baby -- she has remained by his side.

Viewers were beginning to worry that Banks would stay in the marriage because they signed a legally binding piece of paper. However, it appears this may not be the case. According to Redditors, Chris was seen in Mexico with his pregnant ex-fiancé Mercedes Myrick. However, fans noted there was no bump and she was drinking alcohol on the vacation. It seems the two are back together and are living it up in Cancun. The situation is heart-breaking, messy, and confusing. It seems that Williams and Myrick may have concocted a plan to profit off Williams appearing on the show. Fans think Williams went on the show to get back at his ex-fiance. A fan of the show commented a theory of their own, Now I'm starting to think that the ex-fiance lied about being pregnant to one-up him for getting married. It's all just games to them.”

Williams and Banks’ pairing has led to many viewers pressuring the experts for an explanation. The dissent amongst the fanbase grew so to such an extent that Dr. Viviana had to respond to the allegations that the experts paired Banks and Williams for ratings. Although she denied this many viewers still do not trust them, and rightfully so. Former castmates have also commented on Williams and Banks' relationship, stating that Williams is fake, and playing it up for the cameras.

The other couples have firmly stood by Banks’ side, with many of the women especially Virginia Coombs who is married to Erik Lake, defending Banks, and telling Williams to start making her a priority. However, this advice may have flown over his head because Williams was still in love with his ex. Their marriage was unfortunately doomed from the beginning to no fault of Banks. Williams was simply not a suitable candidate for this experiment. Especially considering it may have been a scam the entire time. Hopefully, Paige will find her happy ending, because it was not on Married At First Sight.
