In a sentimental Instagram post, Jamie Otis Hehner shared about not only her painful journey to find love but also her love and gratitude for her Married At First Sight husband, Doug Hehner. Notable contestants from the very first season of the beloved reality series, MAFS, the two struggled from the beginning, yet have been an inspiration for many in pursuit of love and connection. Repeatedly featured in past seasons, Jamie and Doug have faced many challenges after their wedding day, yet the two are constant reminders about the wonders of persistence and dedication within a marriage.

While widely known for her involvement in the first round of marriage experiments in 2014 on MAFS, Jamie is well-known for her previous involvement in reality television as well. Jamie was featured on season 16 of The Bachelor, her first appearance on a reality show. Despite not finding love on The Bachelor, Jamie is now married and living life post-MAFS with her husband, Doug.

Posted on Instagram, Jamie shared an update with followers about the state of her marriage with Doug. Having candidly shared about their marriage struggles, Jamie provided an encouraging update about how both herself and Doug are moving forward. Featuring a humorous Tik Tok video of the two participating in a "#couplechallenge," Jamie describes how the two are striving for a "healthy long-term relationship." While Jamie's language seems to indicate that their marriage is a work in progress, the two seem happy and ready to work through their marital problems hand in hand.

Far from perfect, Jamie and Doug are an excellent example of a devoted couple, both taking their marriage vows seriously, despite their pairing on reality television. Even though she cried on their wedding day and expressed her inability to fall for Doug, Jamie now expresses her love and "thank[fullness]" for Doug, as both a friend and spouse. Not only has Jamie shared that she loves Doug, but she emphasizes how he allows her to feel "safe" and work on her issues with "trust," something that has troubled Jamie from her childhood.

Nearly seven years after their appearance on Married At First Sight, Jamie and Doug are just as dedicated as ever, striving to preserve their marriage as best they can. Motivating one another and holding on to the "safe[ty]" of their marriage, the couple has surpassed surprising odds and made the most of their experimental marriage. With hopefully more positivity to come, both Jamie and Doug show promising signs of saving their relationship.
