Deonna McNeill and Greg Okotie from Married at First Sight have just announced they are expecting their first baby. McNeill revealed the news of her pregnancy via an Instagram post on September 10th with fellow MAFS alumni commenting with their best wishes. The couple met for the first time at the altar on March 21st, 2019.
Deonna, an operations manager from North Carolina and Greg, an owner of a math learning center from Maryland, tied the knot during season 9 of the Lifetime series. Married at First Sight revolves around couples who agree to get hitched the day they meet for the first time. Then, the cameras follow them around for eight weeks after they return home from their honeymoons. Naturally, not all the newlyweds who participate in the show end in a happily ever after. Deonna and Greg however, are a surprising but gratifying exception.
The couple recently made the news of their pregnancy public on social media. In Deonna's post, she and Greg hold a sign that reads, "Okotie, Party of 3". The mother-to-be captioned the picture with: "It's true, we're expanding our family!!" The pregnant star went on to say, "What a blessing?! Thank you all for all of the well wishes and blessings on our family." Ashley Petta, an alum from season 5 of the show, commented, "Congrats! I'm so excited for you guys!" While Jamie Otis from season 1 wrote, "CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! I’m so happy for you guys!!!! I guess you talked Greg into it." See the post for yourself below:
The reality stars didn't forget to include their dog, Sandy, in the celebrations. In McNeill's aforementioned Instagram post, she concluded by giving her beloved canine a shout out with, "Yay! Sandy is going to be a big sister!" Okotie posted a photo of Sandy sporting a bandana around her neck that reads, "Promoted to big Sister." He captioned the post with, "THE WAIT IS OVER."
These are exciting times for fans of Married at First Sight. While Deonna and Greg aren't the first couple from the show to stay together and have children, it gives the audience a sense of hope each time it happens; not only for the stars of the show, but for their own lives as well. If two people who get married upon the first meeting can stay happily together and start a family, then maybe anyone can. Fans look forward to watching the Okoties grow into one big happy family.
