Fans hope that Married at First Sight relationship experts Dr. Viviana Coles and Pastor Calvin Roberson have faith in the process of the show they are working on. When they sat down to talk with Screen Rant, they were about why their show has so much more success than fellow dating reality show The Bachelor. Dr. Coles and Pastor Cal are proud of their show and happy to share their thoughts about their success rate.

Dr. Coles and Pastor Cal are expanding the scope of their relationship expertise in their new spin-off, Unmatchables. They want to help not only people looking to be Married at First Sight, but also singles who need help even getting through a first date. Having both found their own happily ever after, these MAFS experts know what they’re talking about when it comes to forming a lasting relationship. And with 15 marriages still going from Married at First Sight, they obviously have something The Bachelor is missing.

Pastor Cal said he wasn’t surprised that Married at First Sight had a better success rate than The Bachelor. “I think, in our humble but correct opinion, this is probably the most successful matching show on TV without question. The proof is in the pudding. We have 12 successful couples [before season 12]. We have eight babies…There may be more being made as we speak! I think that those are incredibly impressive statistics.” Fifteen successful couples out of 44 contestants and 12 seasons still leaves room for improvement, but it is much higher than The Bachelor’s single successful marriage, plus Matt James’ renewed relationship with Rachel Kirkconnell, out of 25 seasons.

Dr. Coles told us that what makes Married at First Sight different is that contestants get the help of relationship experts. As Dr. Coles told us, “We’re all on the same team when it comes to really trying to help these couples…get to the root of what can make them last forever and have that love forever. We’re all here for love. There’s a lot of support. Having the support and intervention of professional marriage and family counselors is an obvious advantage MAFS contestants have over The Bachelor, and it’s obviously made all the difference.

While The Bachelor is responsible for Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici’s marriage, they seem to be the exception to the rule when it comes to the show actually living up to its purpose of helping couples find love (or being as real and unscripted as it claims). Married at First Sight also has its share of failures, but Dr. Coles and Pastor Cal are always striving to make real families. As Pastor Cal told us, “You want love to last a lifetime!

Married at First Sight airs Wednesdays at 8pm on Lifetime.
