The hopeful bachelors and bachelorettes that are paired on Married At First Sight aren't always the best match, but some couples have made it by putting a lot of work into their marriages. While most couples on Married First Sight don't succeed, a handful of newlyweds were immediately compatible and have stayed happily married since the first episode of their season. Here are the couples that have stuck it out, but only because they really fought for their marriages to work outside of Married At First Sight.

Just like any marriage, the relationships that are matched on Married At First Sight take effort to last. While some of the couples paired on the show are unnatural matches that never would've lasted more than a week outside of the reality show, other stars from the dating series were paired with a partner that could last a lifetime with a bit of work.

While it's rare for a marriage to last long after Married At First Sight, it's common for the prevailing couples to put a lot of effort into their relationships, even after Decision Day. Here are the pairs that are still married after Married At First Sight because they fought to keep their romance alive.

Jamie Otis & Doug Hehner

Jamie Otis and Doug Hehner are the original Married At First Sight couple. Jamie and Doug were matched on the series premiere back in July 2014. Since the first episode of the experimental reality dating show, Jamie and Doug have vowed to try the best they can to make their marriage last. Since opting to stay married on Decision Day, Jamie and Otis have lived happily and even have 2 children together, Henley "Gracie" Grace and newborn Hendrix. Although they have a flourishing family, Jamie and Doug's relationship isn't always perfect. Recently, Jamie took to Instagram to update Married At First Sight fans on her marriage. Jamie confessed that she and her husband fight often, but are committed to working it out. On Instagram, Jamie wrote that her fights with Doug start with "anger, yelling, blaming..but ended w us holding each other." Jamie and Doug work hard to avoid divorce.

Shawniece Jackson & Jephte Pierre

Unlike most of the successful Married At First Sight couples, Shawniece and Jephte didn't click right away. Shawniece and Jephte have been married since they starred on season 6 in 2018. At the altar, however, Shawniece and Jephte were overwhelmed with anxiety rather than love. Over the course of their season, the pair bickered often and had an especially tense argument in a cornfield. Fortunately, by their dramatic Decision Day, Jephte and Shawniece agreed to see where their marriage could go. After the show, Shawniece shared that the pair argued often and she wasn't sure they would make it. Unexpectedly, Shawniece discovered she was pregnant, and the spouses were united by their child. Shawniece confessed there was a time when she didn't wear her wedding ring, but the couple has fought hard and are back on track.

Karen Landry & Miles Williams

Miles Karen Married At First Sight

Karen Landry and Miles Williams were featured on Married At First Sight season 11 in 2020. Currently, season 11 holds the record for the number of couples that are still married since their time on the show. Miles and Karen are one of three newlyweds that have stayed together since saying "I do" on the season 11 premiere. Unlike the other two couples, however, Karen and Miles almost didn't make it to the Married At First Sight finale. Thanks to an anonymous tip, Karen found out her husband's identity before "first sight." Karen was uneasy at the altar and the couple had an issue being intimate with one another. Fortunately, Karen and Miles wrestled through their hesitancies and continue to develop their relationship since season 11.
